Tuesday’s Tails #6.
Good morning everyone! It looks like it will be a nice day again, though right now it’s cloudy, but the clouds should disappear and the sun begin to shine sometime this morning. I hope so, I would like to walk down to the river again today. Hopefully. Speaking of tails. It gets rather hot in my apartment, which means it’s necessary to have windows open, all of them, including the one on the screen door, which is low. Last evening I heard a rustling through the raspberry patch.
Muffin was sleeping at her window, but that woke her up in a hurry. Then I heard those familiar footsteps on the deck. Muffin was looking out the window but backed away in a hurry. That can only mean a bear! I quickly went to my door. Now I can’t just close my inside door because I have a chair there so Muffin can sit and look outside, she likes that spot. When I got to the door there is this massive black head looking in through the screen. It was a large bear, not Bert, staring in the window. I quickly picked up the chair, he turned, something scared him, and he ran off the deck. Then I quickly closed my door. A screen is not enough to hold back a bear. This was shortly after I ate, so he likely smelled food.
Okay, I stopped feeding the birds, but I need to eat. So now what? Keep your door closed when cooking and eating, I was told. It’s hot in here, I need every window open. Perhaps you should get an air conditioner, was the reply. I can’t, due to my health. Keep your door closed when cooking and eating. You said that already. There’s only one door, so if the bear comes in the only thing left to do is jump out the window which is 12 feet off the ground and end up in the hospital. Not a great plan. So out comes the bear spray next time, certainly can’t miss at that range, except the spray will also be inside which might be a bit uncomfortable.
Jasmine came this morning, out from one of the boxes on one side of a flower pot. Pocket came out from another box on the other side of the flower pot. They spotted each other and both ran back inside their respective boxes. Both heads come out, look around, then out they come, same time exactly, and peer around the flower pot. They both jump and head back inside their boxes. Only Jasmine came back out, cautiously looking around the flower pot, while Coffee came up behind her. She stood on her hind feet to look around, causing her tail to come down on top of Coffee. She obviously felt that, so did Coffee, and both ran for their lives in opposite directions. Jasmine never came back, but Pocket came out and got his peanuts, so did Coffee. Jasmine is learning, don’t mess with the chipmunks, they seek revenge on their tormentors. I’m late today, had to go shopping. I hope you all have a great day and God bless!

Happy Shopping Uncle Steve, Start safe and wear double masks and gloves and cover every inch of your skin, pretty hard during this summer isn’t it 🤔😄. That was a good laugh, Why this bear always show up, you should figure out A way, definitely not the kitchen window ha ha ha 😂😂😂 Bear spray is good, but not even inside 🤔 find our, meanwhile, Jasmine entertained you it seems 😂😅 That was nice, Have a lovely day Uncle Steve ❤️💐

Shopping done, getting bad here with store shelves getting so empty, worse all the time. Especially for me since there’s so little I can eat now and then the stores don’t have it in stock. Sigh. Oh well. I need to eat less anyway to keep the bears away. I can’t believe you laughed at the bear scaring me like that! 😯 You laughed??😥 You laughed at me???😮😬 I’m going to stop talking to you.😐 Yep.🤐 Have a good night in the morning.😶😑🌙🌞😂😹

I definitely laughed, can’t deny😂 but not for the bear to scare you, but for jumping out your window 😄😂😅 I can still laugh thinking about it 😂😂haha… LOL. But please, don’t jump 😄🤗 and find another way 😄

Why so little ? 🧐 you don’t have any markets little far? I’m sure your nearby market itself is far for us. We hardly travel less than a kilometer for normal shopping for big malls, under 2 km radius we have multiple shopping malls. sadly, all of them locked for a long time, opened this week, we resumed our shopping, Finally 😇

The closest for me is 4.6km away, the main place I shop is 6.2km away. All of our stores will be open again starting Saturday, but they will have restrictions on the number of people allowed in at one time.

That should be nice, safe but time consuming, definitely not a problem for you, early morning is your time 😄 who comes at that time 😉👍

Less people shop early in the morning, afternoon is just too busy, who wants to shop in crowded stores these days?🤔🙄😬

Good gracious, Steve! If a bear had shown up at my front door there would be more than bear spray left on the floor, I’m afraid!! 🙀😹🐻 For a moment, I thought you were going to say Sir Henry had scared it away!

that is scary about the bear; good thing that happened before you went for your walk. It’s funny to think of a squirrel being scared of a chipmunk…

Yes, too many bears around this year, usually I don’t think of them much. I’m not sure if Jasmine really knew it was a chipmunk, just likely seeing his head from where she was. But it sure was comical especially since Jasmine doesn’t seem to be scared of anything. But those chipmunks know how!
