Sunday’s Sunshine #15.

Good morning to all of you! Well, it’s supposedly a mainly sunny morning, we just can’t see it due to the heavy layer of smoke in the air today. It has effectively blocked the sun completely. If this keeps up it’s doubtful we will get very hot today. But things could change suddenly too. It happens. Interestingly Sir Henry was the first gull here this morning, that just doesn’t happen too often. But Sir George wasn’t too far behind, however Lady Pearl didn’t show up with him today, another oddity. The chipmunks were here early trying to haul away as many peanuts as possible before Slim showed up. They got nearly 2 hours of quietness, then Slim came and the chases began.

Hollyhock.

Still, Slim didn’t always see the chipmunks who stayed motionless by one of the flower pots until Slim left, then they came out, quickly filled up and off they went. Slim wasn’t eating this morning, he too was hauling peanuts away to wherever. There is a hermit thrush singing right now, his flute-like song is just a beautiful part of a wilderness summer. These birds are generally found here in the north and some northern US states. And forested areas are what they like best. And it is just such a beautiful song, a very real part of summer pleasures. Hmm, Slim is doing some chattering, he must have spotted another squirrel. Must be a brave squirrel.

Dianthus.

Jasmine doesn’t come around anymore, guess she gave up completely. And her babies are likely big enough to get out now so she would take them somewhere else where it would be safer. Then perhaps she will come back. But somehow I doubt it. Jasper is also gone now it seems as is Chase. Freddie still tries to sneak in once in a while, but if he sees Slim, he just runs without even trying to fight. Slim has put terror into the hearts of these other squirrels! All part of summer. Well, even if I can’t see the sun, it’s still there, shining beautifully. My little vireo friend is back singing cheerfully from the trees. He has been missing from the morning the last couple of days. I hope you all have a beautiful, sunny Sunday and God bless!

  3. Dianthus could be my next fav flower, look at it 😍 vibrant layers, awesome 🤗, thanks for sharing amazing flower. Slim is going to be slim if he keeps himself busy and alonr, he got plans, I think 🤔😂😅 or maybe not, you will get to know soon, keep up posted until then 😁 Have a lovely Sunday 🤩

    • Slim is going to be one lonely squirrel if he keeps everyone away.🤔🙄 I talked to him about that this morning, I will share that on Tuesday. 😄
      Dianthus are beautiful flowers and come in different colors.😀📷 I only have 2 colors and one isn’t blooming right now. Have a good night and great Monday Simon!😁🌞🌙😴

      • Somehow I don’t think Slim was listening too well, but we will see how it turns out.🙄🙀
        The flower has buds but they don’t grow fast, could be another week.😁📷

      • Well, I’m not really sure where he lives, but he seems to head east mostly, so that means he’s on this side of the road.🤔🙄 But sometimes he goes north, which could mean he lives on the other side of the road.😳🙄 Or maybe he’s trying to fool me and he really lives south.🤔🤔😳🙄
