Sunday’s Sunshine #18.

Good morning everyone on this beautiful, sunny Sunday! The sun was a blazing orange, and the sky a lighter orange, and the sun began to shine through the smoke. The rain we received the other night helped quite a bit to put out a number of the small fires. There are now 116 fires burning, 16 are under control, 10 are being held, and 90 are not under control. The gulls have been here for breakfast, Slim was here but he only ate 2 peanuts and then ran away with a third. He hasn’t been back since. The chipmunks are busy however, but I still haven’t seen Coffee. However, he may have been here and I just missed him.

Dew covered Portulaca.

Hmm, our sunshine has disappeared, it has likely gotten cloudy now. Hard to tell if it’s clouds or smoke these days. But that smoke is strong smelling right now, getting worse all the time. I finally got some pics of Choco which I will show tomorrow or Tuesday. Got some new pics of Scooter too. It’s so quiet in the morning now that the smaller birds are no longer singing like they used to do. I hear the red-eyed vireo now and then and a robin. There isn’t even much in the way of insects anymore. Except things like bees, grasshoppers (lots of grasshoppers this year), spiders (which are not technically insects).

Dew covered marigolds.

Maybe I will see more on my next trip to the river. I did get a nice picture of a spider sitting on a daisy a couple days ago. I will admit, I’m not really a fan of spiders. I would be quite happy if they were not around. But I do have a few pictures of them, one is a big scary looking spider sitting in the middle of his web, which was right across the river path. And right at face height. I almost walked into that web. That spider would have landed on my face. Though he wouldn’t have stayed there long. And I probably would have jumped to the top of the nearest tree. Sigh. Anyone want to see pictures of spiders? Oh well. Have a beautiful Sunday everyone and God bless!

    • Those ashes are even inside!
They’re over here and over there,
They even land in my hair.
They fly down low, they fly up high,
They even hit me in the eye!
Then I sit down and sigh. Sniff.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜น

  4. Ashes everywhere can’t be good for your health! I hope the fires get under control soon. Wearing a mask while outside may help with ashes and creepy spiders! Stay safe and give Muffin a hug from Callie. ๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿ•ท ๐Ÿ•ธ โ˜•๏ธโ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ป

    • That’s true, it’s very unhealthy. Masks work for stopping ashes, but smoke and the chemicals it carries can still get through, the particulates are so small, more so than the Covid.๐Ÿ˜ณ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ˜€
Muffin meows thanks to Callie and gives a hug back!๐Ÿ˜ธ๐Ÿ˜ป
