Thursday’s Thoughts #22.

Good morning everyone! It’s another beautiful fall morning, although cloudy today. Looks like we will get some showers and perhaps thunderstorms later today. But it’s a nice mild morning. The birds and chipmunks were here a bit earlier this morning even though it’s a bit darker this morning due to the clouds. The sun does keep trying to break through now and then, but basically it is a rather dull looking day. But it’s a more typical fall day, and it’s beautiful. I made a new feeder yesterday, a hanging type feeder, very simple and it’s only for the chickadees and nuthatches.

They are the only ones that can get inside of it to get seeds. That way they always have seeds available. It looks a bit odd perhaps but it’s only temporary to see if it will work, then I can make something better, hopefully. It took about half an hour and the first chickadee was inside and came out with a seed. I don’t know if any others used it or if it was always the same chickadee going in and out, but it was used steadily until I brought it in for the night. Hmm, there’s not a bird out there right now. All is very quiet. There are 3 chipmunks, but not a bird of any kind.

Raiding the peanut cup.

Oh, there’s Baxter and Betty now, down they come for the peanuts. So odd to have peanuts out there and no blue jays fighting over them. The white-throated sparrows are coming out now as well. There must have been some danger out there, likely that hawk again. I decided on doing a major fall cleaning this year. Not just cleaning, but also sorting through stuff and getting rid of things that I just don’t need or haven’t used in a long time. Plus I’m rearranging furniture. Muffin likes helping with the cleaning part, even sorting stuff is kinda fun, but she doesn’t like rearranging things.

Yesterday was a more major movement of things and she wasn’t so sure she liked that one. Until she discovered there was a new place to sleep. Then she gave her approval. And had a nap. I wonder what she will think of the next rearrangement? Should be interesting, but that won’t happen until next week I’m sure. The worst part with rearranging furniture is that sometimes it doesn’t work out, things don’t quite fit the way I think or it just doesn’t look good the new way. Then it has to be put back the way it was. Which is a lot of work.

This is Super Chip.

This problem basically happens in a small place, like this apartment. Sometimes furniture only really fits one way. And I admit to having a lot of stuff, which means needing a lot of furniture. It’s really too much for an apartment this size. But I also don’t like looking at an empty room, so the minimalist look is definitely out for me. I spend a lot of time inside, so I prefer a full room, I find it more relaxing. However, I am cutting back a bit anyway. And so far it’s working out good. Hopefully this next part will work out well too. Hmm, must be time for more coffee! I hope you each have a most wonderful day and God bless!

  1. Steve, you better slow down. If my wife sees this, she’ll have a “To Do” list in a micro minute. We have a spare bedroom that needs to reassembled with some stuff put somewhere else or thrown away. Maybe I can wait until the first snow flies.

    • Yep, I actually like to rearrange now and then, it’s like being in a new place.😁 No storms here either, cleared off nicely. I imagine the chipmunks will stay around until the weather gets colder again. I took it easy today, hopefully sleep better tonight than last night.😬
I hope you get a good night too!πŸ˜€πŸ˜»πŸŒ™πŸ˜΄πŸ˜΄
