For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! It is quite a nice morning here. We were supposed to get up to 4 inches (10cm) of snow, but we only ended up with half an inch (.75cm). Right now the sun is almost shining through the very thin clouds. The birds are busy at the feeders, feasting on their second breakfast. I will soon need to go out with more seeds for them. I am just putting out smaller amounts of seeds because it was snowing and I wanted to make sure they were able to eat all the seeds before they were covered with snow.
It works good that way, but it does mean I have to go out more frequently. And Muffin is sitting here just waiting for me to move so she can take over the chair. Hmm, looks like I will have to move anyway, the birds are sitting in the trees waiting for more food. There we go, now everyone is happy again. They had eaten every seed that I had put out the last 2 times, so that is good. It is the best way to do it when it snows like this.

Surprisingly Muffin did not take the chair, instead she watched me outside, and now she is sitting on the floor looking at me. Just sitting. Looking. That look that can make a person nervous. Like when I am out walking and I get that feeling that I am being watched. By something. Usually when all is quiet. Yet I cannot see anything around me. Gives kind of a weird feeling. I have had that feeling so often over the years. Sometimes I never find out what it is. Other times I do find out. And wish I had not.
Because it turns out to be a bear, or a wolf. But normally they will run from a human anyway. Normally, is the key word. There is something so nice about being out walking, away from everything else, no noises of the town. I stop and listen to the silence. Absolute silence. It is something so amazing listening to this silence. Total quiet. Silent. Along the darkest part of the path to the river. No birds are here. No squirrels. Nothing. Silent. It really is very beautiful.

Then the wind begins to blow in the tops of the tall pines around me. Waking up the whole area to the most wonderful symphony. Hundreds of pines, each with it’s own unique sound, each a unique instrument playing this beautiful music. All blending together to create this amazing symphony of natural songs that stirs the heart. The wind stops and everything becomes calm once more. So still. Silent. I continue on my way still enjoying this beautiful solitude. Thank you for reading. Have a most wonderful weekend everyone and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

If a person wanted to they could, but it would be a lot of work harvesting them.

Didn’t you get the memo about 15 years ago that the gummit was going to put cameras in all the trees to see what evils we are up to? Haven’t you ever seen those signs that say, “You are here.”? ‘They’ know! π

The snow does look beautiful (did I actually say that?), just too cold. I probably spoil the birds a bit.ππΉ
