For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good Monday morning to everyone! I hope your day is going well so far. I know for some it is just barely beginning, and for others it is already afternoon, and for others yet it is evening. I really enjoy having readers from all around the world! Although I must admit, with over 1200 followers now, it is impossible to keep up with everyone, and to be honest, it is hard to even keep up with my regular readers now. I apologize for that.
I am a slow reader and to read even 50 posts a day would require a good portion of the day. I need to learn to read faster I guess. But I feel bad for not keeping up with all of your posts. I am planning to try and do better though. I have a new schedule of reading worked out, we’ll see if it works or not. It was nice having a long evening yesterday, made it feel more spring like, even if it was not warm enough for melting. There sure was a lot of those evening grosbeaks again, and redpolls.
They were everywhere, on the feeders, on the snow, in the trees, at least 100 of each species. There were at least 3 female pine grosbeaks as well. Oddly, I did not see any woodpeckers yesterday. I’m early again today, my regular shopping day again. I was hoping for a walk to the river, finally, today as well. But something tells me that is not going to happen. I just have a feeling that way. That’s okay, there are other days this week. Jasper came by yesterday as well, but he didn’t stay very long.
There were 5 deer as well, all at the same time. Major and Junior were here with 2 does and a young deer which I have named Furly. Major has certainly gotten big. But Junior has gotten big too, though not like Major. Amazing how Major comes around now when he doesn’t have his antlers. Before when he had those beautiful antlers he would only come at night, or when it was starting to get dark, so I could not get a picture of him. Sigh. Oh well.
I did get some nice pics of other bucks back in December. I will have to start bringing in the suet feeders at night, those raccoons will be starting to come around soon. I don’t want them to destroy those suet cages, or the hanging feeders. I should probably start doing that tonight really. Well, time for me to go, thank you so much for reading today. Have a wonderful Monday and God bless!
