We got another 3/4 inch just like they said, and snow flurries too and a killing frost coming tonight so I brought my plants in. I bought flowers later this year to make sure they wouldn’t have frost problems and we’re still getting frost. Sigh. But that’s not it, guess again!ππ€ΈββοΈπ€ΈββοΈ
How did you know? He did, but that’s not it. I’ll give you a hint, it involves a bright orange and black bird that was here last Saturday! Unfortunately I didn’t get any pics since it was either raining or snowing all day. But…
Yep, he obviously has been staying nearby, now he just needs to attract a mate! Then they will nest close by. I put an orange out for him and he came to it right away. Apparently they love fruit. Poor guy was all scrunched together looking so cold. After I put the orange out he was looking much better. He just about finished off that half orange today. That was all I had. But I’m going to put out some strawberries and blueberries for him tomorrow. They like a wide range of fruit.ππΊππππππ
You too! Stay warm π

That’s what I’m hoping! It would be nice if he stayed around all summer.π

Indeed it would! Another new family in the neighborhood would be nice for next year too!ππ

Yes indeed. Since young birds tend to return to the area they were born, getting one pair this year could lead to several pairs next year!π
