The Investigators, Inc. Back To Iceland. Chapter 3. The Safe.

The girls were soon on one of Baldwin’s jets headed for Iceland, and ultimately, the lodge. There was Annelie, Carine, Galyna and Sigurbjorn. At the airport they would be met by Kristina and Salka who would drive them to the lodge. It would be around midnight when they arrive at the lodge which would be perfect. Unfortunately way up here in the north in Iceland, it never really gets dark this time of year so that will make their job a little harder for sure.

They did find a spot, which Sigurbjorn had told them about, to park and hide the car from view of the main road. It would mean a short walk to the lodge which would only take about 15 minutes. There were shrubs and a few trees growing close to the lodge at the side they would approach from, so that also helped them get nice and close so they could survey the area before going inside.

They also brought the cats with them, MC being perfect at picking locks of most any kind. Plus the cats can hear things better than anyone so they will be on guard duty. There were 3 police officers at the front of the lodge and two at the back door. There is a side door, but on the second floor. Fortunately they brought a rope ladder with them so getting up to that balcony was easy.

Their faces were disguised just in case those nasty cameras were in operation, and no talking until they got to the room in the basement where the safe was located. Except there was no basement. But Sigurbjorn took them to the Agnarsson bedroom, and with a push of a button the bed moved out of the way and a door slid open revealing stairs going down to the safe room. However, before doing that the girls disabled the camera in that room with one of our new devices that scrambles video, just like our scrambler for talking.

They hoped that no one was monitoring the camera all the time. After going down Sigurbjorn pushed another button and everything went back to normal upstairs. It is likely that no one knows of this room, except perhaps Harmon and his men. Scramblers were set up so they could talk and move about freely. Sigurbjorn said she found out about this one day walking past the bedroom and Mikkael did not have the door closed all the way.

She did not think the bedroom or the safe room had cameras since she had not been detected, but better to be on the safe side. She did have the safe open quickly and the girls could not believe all the money that was stored inside! Good thing they only brought essential items with them. Now they would have enough room in their backpacks for the money, but they did have extra backpacks as well, which was a good thing. Even at that they barely had enough room for all the money!

And an added bonus were some ‘books’ that Mikkael had in the safe detailing names and business records for The Company all across Europe. North American records would likely be kept in the US. Mikkael was definitely high up in The Company, no wonder they wanted him killed, he would have a lot to say if he talked to us or the police. This was going to really hurt Harmon in a big way.

Upstairs Muffin and Storm were guarding the bedroom door when they heard some talking down the hall. They peeked out and saw two police officers coming so they waited until they were within range. Then both cats rolled out into the hall and “Thwock, Thwock!” The officers were knocked out and the cats quickly retrieved their rubber balls and Muffin pressed her alarm button.

“Trouble upstairs,” said Kristina. “We are all set to go,” answered Annelie and the girls came up quickly. Meow,meow.=Human police people come in hall. Meowr.=Yep, now they sleep nice. The girls chuckled and all went on their way going as fast as possible. They did have to move slower however since they were now each carrying 3 backpacks, large ones at that.

Annelie was struggling with her hip so Kristina and Galyna took one of her backpacks and held it between them, Salka and Carine took another and Sigurbjorn helped Annelie. Finally they made it back to the car and they were soon on their way back to Reykjavik. But, things took a bad turn at the trial…
