Good morning and Happy Friday to everyone on this beautiful, sunny day! It looks like it will be another fabulous, fall day, just like yesterday. It was just so beautiful yesterday, a clear blue sky all day, mild, a very nice day for walking to the river. Except it was very windy. Too windy for a nice walk as it prevents me from hearing well. And with bears around, I want to hear. So, I did not go for a walk.
Today might be better and it will be hard to convince myself not to go walking to the river. Sigh. Bears always want to get in the way of a nice day. Mind you, bears are around all the time, but most of the time they are not seen. Therefore, I do not pay any attention to them. But once they make themselves visible, that is a different story. Like right now.
It would be better if the weather was not quite so nice. Then it would be easier to stay home. Sigh. Well, I think I have solved the problem with feeding the birds right now. It works, as long as no one complains to the bylaw officer. I have a temporary feeder set up, but it does not quite meet the bylaw that our town has for bird feeders.
However, it is just meant to be temporary, until winter arrives when I can put up a new permanent winter feeder. I am working on that now, however, so that when the cold weather arrives, I can put it up quickly. More or less. I need to put up a whole new pole with the feeders since this bear pulled down my old one. But I think my new idea will work just fine for the winter. Hopefully I can keep the birds happy until then.
I put up the temporary feeder last evening and the chickadees were using it right away. And around 7pm the nuthatches showed up as well, so that was nice to see. They had not been around all day. The blue jays continue to be busy this morning, and the chickadees as well. GPS was here yesterday, but no other chipmunks showed up. I sat outside for a while yesterday afternoon taking pictures of the blue jays.
There are at least 12 blue jays now and I think perhaps there are 14 of them. Not all of them will stay around for the winter, some of the younger birds will be chased away by the older ones before winter comes along. They always keep one of their young with them over the winter though. The birds are all here for their second breakfast now. Time for more coffee too. Yes, I did get some spray so I feel a bit better being outside now. But I’m not so sure I want to go walking to the river though. Thank you so much! 😊😺🍂🍁

Sigh, the mean month end is back and got extended to another 4 days. Not sure how the central government allows bankers to work on their own. We are losing sanity 😂.i know you’ll figure out a way for your feeder. Great Job. Hope you didn’t for hurt in the process. How is ur back? Is it feeling better?. Take care. Well, the first day of October was cloudy and cold, but no rain at least. It was supposed to be sunny today. Sigh. It is clear now, but night has arrived. Might be sunny tomorrow. Try not to work too hard! Have a good night!😁🌛😴🍂🍁

The month end seems to be getting on my nerves 😅 my team is missing 😂 must have taken Sunday off 🙄 ar least let them take rest. I’ll handle them tomorrow. So my Sunday was lost to this 😅 wasted 🤣🤣. October is beginning awesome we have lot of busy days ahead. My kids 1st bday is coming. 😁 Excited 😁😁. Have a lovely Sunday ❤️

Yeah, bears at this time of the year are foraging big time to get ready for winter.

Yep, we get a lot of bears in town this time of the year and they can get dangerous at times. Best to leave them alone. 🤔

Yeah. I had to get bearproof trashcans, which worked well enough except the pears had tossed them around trying to get them to open and almost hit the neighbor’s car. They kind of bypass me now. I must not be worth the trouble.

I bought one trashcan that was supposed to be bear proof, but this one big guy just put his teeth through the lid and with a little work ripped the lid off! Now the lid doesn’t fit anymore, he kind of bent it out of shape!😂😹
