Wild Mushrooms. #2

Good morning everyone!

I am finally back with another of our wild mushrooms to show you. This one is called “Golden Wax Cap”. It is such a nice bright yellow, it shows up well even at a distance. It is a smaller mushroom with a cap is generally from 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7cm) across. The one I photographed is just over 1 inch across. They are found in good humus or wet mossy areas and show up from July to October. This mushroom is slippery feeling when young but becomes dry and shiny with age. It is a fairly common mushroom, but I am not sure if it is an edible species. Have a great day and God bless!
