Looking At Insects. #22 Dragonfly.

Hi everyone!

Here we are with another of our dragonflies, this time it is the “White-faced Meadowhawk”. This one is the female and these meadowhawks are small dragonflies like the previous one we looked at. It is just 1.3 inches (32mm) in length and, as you can see, it holds its wings forward facing that the other meadowhawk we saw.

This one is around from about mid-July to October though I have never seen it before August. The female lays her eggs later in the day in a grassy area that has the potential for flooding in spring. The eggs overwinter and hatch in spring. Have a great day and God bless!

    • We spent 2 days and three nights staying below freezing! Too early for that kind of weather. I hope that is not a sign of things to come! Yes, we do like to share! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ΉπŸ™„πŸŒ›πŸŒžβ˜•β˜•
