Looking At Insects. #23 Dragonfly

Good morning to everyone!

Well, here we are with another dragonfly, but not a new one. This is the male “White-faced Meadowhawk”. We saw the female first, for some of you that one showed up last evening, and for some it would have showed up this morning. Now we have the male, which is another bright red dragonfly, just 1.3 inches (32mm) long.

There are several different meadowhawk species, and we have some of them around here. This is our second species of this type of dragonfly, and I have pictures of one more I believe. As mentioned before, these are around from mid-July to October and are most plentiful from early August to mid-September in our area. Thank you for reading, have a great day and God bless!
