For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone on this another cold day! That wind is howling out there like a raging wolf. It is just plain cold this morning. Those poor little birds, they have to fight the cold and the wind today. I think that strong wind is keeping a lot of the birds away today. They are staying hidden back in the trees where the wind does not get at them so much.
Still, there are some brave little chickadees and nuthatches out there. I also saw one male hairy woodpecker and a lone male evening grosbeak. There has not been even one blue jay here this morning and that is something new. Every other winter the blue jays would be here no matter what the weather. They might show up yet, but it is strange they have not been here. They missed their breakfast. I have not seen Chase either.
But Junior was here earlier to say “hi”. He actually stole an apple core right out of my hand. Sneaky little guy. Well, he is not so little. My milk crate “fence” no longer stops him either. He discovered it was easy to push them out of the way. So that idea no longer works. That part is bad. He does stomp his feet first though to let me know he is out there. But if I do not get out there quickly enough, then he pushes his way onto the deck. Someone might see him on the deck and report me again.
I do not want that. Oh well, I will think of something, when it warms up a bit. That strong NW wind is pounding against my one wall today, as it was all night. I can feel the cold coming through that big window as I type this morning. My heater comes on a lot too on days like this. We had another couple inches (5cm) of snow overnight again. That makes 6.5 inches (16.25cm) for this week now. But because of the wind, the snow is now 6 inches deep on my walkway.
It was clear of snow yesterday. More shoveling for today I guess. I am back again. I just noticed the time so went to make sure the letter carrier could reach my mailbox without sinking in the snow. The snow was actually a foot (30cm) deep by the mailbox, so I needed to clear that away. If not, they will not deliver the mail. I do not get much mail actually, but there is always the possibility of getting mail. The anticipation is exciting. The empty mailbox is less exciting.
I decided not to shovel my walkway though, it was a bit deep there, and a bit hard since it had blown in with that strong wind. Too much for me. I am going to stop shoveling snow, except around my mailbox, because I like to get my mail, even when I do not get any, which is most of the time. Oh well. There are no birds out there. Still no blue jays. It is just plain cold out there. It must be time for more coffee. Would you like some too? Have a funtastic Friday everyone and God bless!

Peanuts give quicker energy and warmth than anything else. I can’t figure what happened to the blue jays today, very odd. My squirrel did finally come and take the peanuts though.π€ππ»βοΈβοΈπ₯Άπ₯Άββπ

I’m lucky to have lots of beaches and seaside walks just a few minutes drive from home.

Yeah, I love being by the sea. The picture at the top of my website is one that I took 10 minutes walk from my place.
