Friday Fun With Coffee! #3

Good morning everyone!  It is cloudy again this morning and we had some more freezing drizzle earlier as well.  It seems too cold to have something like that though.  The temperature was, and is, 14F (-10C).  I was informed by one of my readers yesterday about something odd on my blog.  That had to do with the captions under my photos.  When I put the captions in place, they run horizontal under the photo, like the sentences in this post.

But he was seeing the captions stacked like a pile of bricks, for lack of a better way to describe it, kind of word over word and placed to the left under the photo.  So I checked some things.  Going to my site using my laptop, that was indeed what showed up.  Using my phone and going to my site, the captions showed up the way they should.  I checked with my laptop through the reader and the captions showed up properly as well.

Above is a male evening grosbeak with a female common redpoll in front.

However, me doing it on my laptop does not always mean that is how it looks.  I have found that out before.  Most people, apparently, read blogs with their phones, so the problem would not likely show up.  So, I need some help from you, my readers.  If you could tell me how you see the captions under my photos, I would be very happy!  Also, please let me know if you read from your phone or laptop/computer.  Do you use the WP app?

If I am going to approach WP with this problem, I will need as many details as possible.  I have discovered that before.  If you have a solution to the problem, please let me know, I am sure others must have had this problem before.  It is annoying for sure.  Likely people think I am doing this deliberately.  I am trying something different this morning to see if that will correct the problem.  I could also just describe the photo either before or after showing it, right in the post itself, without using captions.

I have done that before too.  It is just nicer to use captions.  Oh well.  Thank you so much for your help!!  I sometimes have problems.  In other words, things happen to me.  My dad was accident prone, now I am.  I guess I inherited it from him.  Or something.  Anyway, last night I wanted to boil some potatoes.  I do that sometimes.  I put water in a pot and as I pulled it from the sink it hit the edge of the sink and splashed water.

It was much like a huge wave of water.  All over me.  Getting me quite wet.  It even went up the sleeve of my shirt.  I raised my arm to get it out of the way and the water flowed right up to my shoulder.  That got me to lower my arm quickly and the water poured out and onto my foot!  Until that moment my feet had remained dry.  Sigh.  I changed my shirt.  I like dry shirts.  Especially in winter.  Now, after cooking my meal and getting the food on my plate, I proceeded to walk to my chair.

Just had to include another frosty tree above.

I sit in my recliner while I eat and spend time on my blog.  I like to do that.  And it works good.  Well, most of the time.  Guess I sat down too fast, or something, and my plate began to tip.  I tried to stop it and just ended up slapping the plate against my chest.  Flat.  Splat.  My clean shirt!  My food!  Muffin had been sleeping but she came running when I mentioned food.  Or maybe she heard the splat.  Whichever.

I cleaned up my food and put it back on my plate.  Then I changed my shirt.  Again.  I came back and Muffin was enjoying my meal.  Especially the broccoli.  She just loves broccoli.  She grabbed the biggest piece and off she ran with it.  Sigh.  She ate it all too.  I looked at my food.  I wonder what else she was sampling?  Sigh.  Nothing much has happened lately, so guess I was overdue.  Oh well.  I do hope you have a fabulous Friday and God bless!

Whatever you did has corrected the brick stack that I used to see. Great job! Now you can apply for a job at Google since you know your stuff! 😀

    • Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the pics. I do, but she does like my food better than hers sometimes. Not sure why. She especially likes veggies! Have a good night, sleep well!😊😻☕☕🌛😴❄️

  4. Wonderful photos! I read the blog on my laptop usually and sometimes on my phone. Do not use the WordPress app. Your captions under the photos are horizontal and look normal with no numbers.
