The Investigators, Inc. The English Hotel Case. Chapter 4. M For Mandar.
Well, the team had informed me about finding Bridgette and Storm and what had happened to Bridgette. They did not yet no anything else, but I told them to keep me informed. Now, back to our team in England. Meowr.=M is name of leader human. M very, very big man, like human Rock, but fat. Still he very strong, say he can beat anyone in fight. “That is what he thinks!” boomed Rock, “just let me get my hands on this M, I will show him what fighting is all about!”
Meowr.=M very mean, even to own people humans. He pick up one man and throw across room against wall. Man not get up again. “That would be the dead man we found in the room with Bridgette,” said Angel. Meowr.=Yep that the one. He say lots of mean things to me and to human Bridgette. Me want to attack him, but human Bridgette told me not to do anything that might hurt me or her, so me behave.
“You are a good cat Storm,” said Sky, “you saved Bridgette, just like you helped save Steve and Kristina.” Meowr=Me not help much. Poor human Bridgette still get beaten up bad. He put his head down. “You did just what you were told to do,” said Rock, “and that is doing your very best when you do that. If you had tried to help her, then M might have killed you both.” Meowr.=Oh, me not think about that.
Fortunately our doctor, Saranna, had decided to go along since our hospital will not be ready for another 10 days, so I said she could go if she wanted. And she had a very good medical kit with her as well. She could not detect any broken bones so it was decided not to take her to the hospital. Taking Bridgette to one would have generated a lot of questions, which would not be good for us right now. By evening Bridgette was able to talk a little bit.
“That man was huge, like Rock, only he was very fat,” said Bridgette weakly, “but he was incredibly strong and demonstrated that to Storm and I. After, when he started punching me, I felt that strength in every hit. He is such a cruel and hateful man. He wants Steve and had asked how many of the girls are behind protecting him.” Sky nearly died when she heard that and she immediately called to warn me and ask Baldwin to send some help.
But there was no answer. She called each of the girls. But no answer from anyone. Then she called Baldwin. “What!?” he exclaimed, “I will send men over at once!” He did so too and sent Ralph with 10 other men to go check on us and stay there to help protect us. The men arrived quickly and saw that the lights were on. Ralph knocked on the door, but no answer, so he tried the door and it was unlocked. The men entered, with guns out.
They checked the whole chateau, but we were all gone. All, that is, except one person, Annelie. She had been beaten practically lifeless. They called Baldwin immediately and he said to take Annelie to the hospital that we have been using. “And stay with her,” he said to Ralph, “but send 5 men back to me.” He then called Sky. “Bad news Sky,” he said, “it would seem that M has beat us to Steve and the girls. He has taken them all, except Annelie, and she has been beaten terribly.”
Sky was angry at first, then she began to cry. “Hey Sky,” said Rock, “what is wrong.” “M got Steve, Kristina, Crystal, Galyna and Sigurbjorn.” Then she looked at Rock. “Annelie has been beaten very badly,” she said to him, “she is in the hospital and under guard now.” Rock yelled with his booming voice, so loud that everyone thought the whole building shook! “Rock,” said Sky, “you may go back to Annelie, while the rest of us continue to look for Steve and the others.”
“NO!” said Rock emphatically, “Annelie would want me to stay with the team and stop this secret M, for good! But I want you to take charge right now, I am not able to do that properly at the moment, and I do not want to endanger the team in any way. Everyone, Sky is in charge.” Then Bridgette said something that caused everyone to gasp. “M said that he is working for Mandar,” she said clearly. Meow,meow.=Me not believe that, human Mandar is nice man, me know. MC and Storm agreed, but…

Mandar??😳 That makes no sense at all!🤔 Perhaps he’s trying to trick everyone onto going after Mandar?

Yes, it could just be a trick, I certainly doubt that Mandar would be involved after becoming so friendly with our team. And “adopting” all our girls with no family. I don’t see him risking that, but stranger things have happened.🤔👩😾😾😾🕵️♂️

Yes, that is always possible, or perhaps he had worked for Mandar in the past. Sky will be checking with Mandar about that anyway. Strange that M took all 5 of us if he only wants me.🤔👩😾😾😾🕵️♂️

He probably does not know they have been found even. Well, if he doesn’t want witnesses he could have just shot everyone. He did leave Annelie behind, but why is that? He doesn’t seem to be acting rationally.🤔👩😾😾😾🕵️♂️

Very good point… he wouldn’t leave Annalie, maybe he’s trying to anger the team and make them slip up?

That’s a good possibility too. Anger can make people slip and mistakes then are made. He certainly succeeded in getting Rock angry, and he had sense enough to turn things over to Sky, at least until he calms down. An angry leader can destroy a whole team.🤔👩🙀🙀🙀🕵️♂️

Yep, and Baldwin has decided to ask advice from someone who might understand what is going on, and why beat Annelie and leave her behind while taking the other girls.🤔👩😾😾😾🕵️♂️

Nope, not Mandar and not the Major either. Yes, a hidden message of some kind perhaps, maybe it was the same with Bridgette, but we have not been able to uncover what the message means just yet.🤔👩😾😾😾🕵️♂️

Does Annelie and Bridgette share any kind of past ? Like in the same business?🤔

Nope, far apart those two. Annelie was in a gang, which is where we found here. Bridgette is from an average family in Canada, after high school she took nursing in college and has been a RN now for 2 years. She is friends with Saranna which led her wanting to join us.🤔👩🕵️♂️

Possibly, but why the interest in me then? Why not kidnap Annelie instead? This M just doesn’t seem to have any reason for what he is doing. He captures Storm and Bridgette, beats Bridgette and lets Storm go unharmed. And it didn’t sound as though he liked cats too much.🤔🕵️♂️

Yes indeed, if that is the case then he would have no pattern for us to follow. And that is what it looks like right now. Although the beating of a woman in each case might be a pattern developing. That wouldn’t help much though.🤔👩🕵️♂️

Very true… although he could have had a bad experience as kid with a girl and that’s what’s driving him! But then why take you at all??🤔

Yes, that’s why he doesn’t seem to have a logical pattern for what he is doing. He even killed his own man for whatever reason. I just hope my team can find us before he starts to kill the girls, or me.🤔👩🕵️♂️

That is very true. They are checking that old jail for clues and also the secret passageway at the hotel. Perhaps he left something behind that might tell the team about him or what he wants. Plus checking with Mandar, just in case he knows this guy. Plus checking with someone else as well.🤔👩🕵️♂️

Yes, there could be many twists and turns in this one without being able to figure out what is going on or where it’s going. And it may not even have a reason for what happens, just some poor guy acting out dreams or whatever. Or there could be a real sinister plot hidden here somewhere.🤔👩🕵️♂️

It will be interesting to see what happens next and how long it takes my team to find us. I think they will have to find us quickly before this guy goes overboard and kills us all.🤔👩🕵️♂️

Mandar might have a clue, to M. There is also probably some clue left in the chateau to lead the team to where you were taken.

Yes, there could be clues left in the tunnel beneath the hotel or in the jail as well. There is a clue in the chateau, though the team is unaware of it’s meaning yet. Hopefully Mandar can help out, but something is amiss there too!🤔👩😾😾😾🕵️♂️
