The Investigators, Inc. The English Hotel Case. Chapter 14. Ambulance.

We arrived a little before 2, I could see Sky and the others around. I looked over at Sky, then at Crystal. Sky knew right away and called for an ambulance. “Can you make it to the diamonds?” I asked her. “Yes, I can do it,” she said. “She better,” said one of M’s men that came with us, he then took out his phone, pressed a button and out came a 4 inch blade, razor sharp on both sides. “How did you do that?” I asked. “Special coating,” said the man smiling, “now keep walking.”

He is going to need a special coating of something if he says anything again. We made it to the diamond showcase just as the electricity turned off and the room got quite dark even though it did have some windows in it. I told Crystal to faint, which she did and I caught her, lowering her to the floor. “You will have to do it,” I said to our ‘friend’. He grabbed the diamonds but suddenly he was kicked in the back. He fell against the display and turned, then Galyna kicked him again and he was on the floor.

She started yelling in German that a man was stealing the diamonds. Two other men were by the side door with Kristina and she then went into action, kicking both men in the stomach then coming down hard on their backs with her elbows. Tracy and Angel stopped two more men that were running toward the main doors. Sky came running to me but I told her to go after M and not let him escape. Off she went and joined Macey and Astrid outside and they went over to M at his van.

He was now standing outside the van looking very worried because no one came out that side door. He had two men with him. “Hello M,” said Sky. “Who, who are you?” he asked. Right then Macey and Astrid took care of the two men that M had with him. Now M was looking very worried. “My name is Sky,” she said, “Steve is my husband and Crystal is my cousin. I hear you like to punch people in the stomach. Would you like to know how it feels?”

M then looked at little Sky and laughed. But Sky quickly kicked him 3 times in the stomach and he fell back against the van groaning. When he lifted up his head he saw a man standing in front of him with dark glasses. The man removed his glasses and looked sternly at M. “Major!” gasped M, “how did you find me?” “Crystal told me you would be here,” said the Major. Then he held out a picture. “Do you remember this little girl?” asked the Major.

M just looked. “Think back ten years,” said the Major again, “it is my little girl, the one you killed.” “I, I had no choice,” stumbled M, “I wanted her, she would not come with me. She just said ‘leave me alone fat man’. No one talks to me like that, no one. I had to kill her.” The Major stayed amazingly calm. “Well, fat man, you will never hurt another little girl,” said the Major. Macey then handed her gun to her dad, she had already put a silencer on it.

“Take out your gun,” said the Major, “fight fat man.” That got M angry and he took out his gun, but before he could point it, the Major shot him 3 times. M fell backward into the van, dead. Macey took the gun from her dad just as 3 police cruisers came screeching to a stop around them. Out of one came Rossana, she was one police officer who knew the Major well, since she was part of an operation to take down Victor and his organization if they could.

“Hello Sky,” she said. “That is M,” said Sky. “He had pulled his gun, the only thing to do was shoot him,” said Macey. “Is that your gun,” asked Rossana, “may I see it?” Macey handed it to her. Rossana knew it had been discharged and gave it back to Macey. “Are these men with you?” Rossana asked Sky. “Yes they are,” she answered, “they have been very helpful to us on this case.” “Well, I am not so sure we have helped much, but we tried anyway,” said the Major.

“Okay,” said Rossana, “you and your men may go now. But I would suggest leaving the country as quickly as possible…for safety reasons.” She then smiled at the Major. “Thank you, we will do that,” said the Major. Macey hugged her dad. “Good bye daddy,” she said, “thanks for helping.” Then off they went. The Major had 4 men with him who had gotten out of the car just in case he needed help with M. “Guess that lady cop did not recognize you Major,” said one man.

“Oh, she recognized me alright,” said the Major. “And she just let you go?” said another man. “Yes, she did,” said the Major, “she is good friends with Steve and his team and I guess this was a favor to them.” Sky turned when she heard the ambulance leave and she saw me standing there with the 3 cats and my head down. “I need to check on Steve,” said Sky and she ran quickly over to me. “Is Crystal okay?” she asked. I just shook my head…
