For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
We all gathered outside and waited for the helicopters to arrive. “Did you get a good look at the man in charge?” asked Sky. “Yes, and even better..” I began, then I held my held and started to scream. Everyone looked not knowing what to do. But it did not last and I was back to normal. “Did he do something to you Steve?” asked Sky. “I, I do not think so,” I said slowly, but my head still feels like a hammer hit me.”
I walked away from everyone and Sky followed after me. “I am overdue for my shot?” I asked her. “No, you are not due for another shot for 10 days,” she replied, “but perhaps that gas reacted badly because of your other problems.” “Maybe,” I said, “I sure do not feel right at all. I just want to get away from this place, and fast!” “Rock will be here soon,” she said and put her arm around me. “Get away!!” I yelled, “do not touch me!!”
Then I pushed her away, hard, and she fell. John came running over and stood between me and Sky. “Cool down Steve,” he said, “what has gotten into you?” I just yelled for him to get away from me. Sky called Marlene over to give me something to calm me down. She came right away. “NO, I do not want anything!” I yelled, and I pushed her down too. But John being quite a bit bigger than me, held me still so she could give me a tranquilizer to calm me down.
It worked very fast and I just went limp, so John laid me down on the ground. Meanwhile, “Well, well, Bruce,” said the man, “that gas never had such an effect on anyone before. I wonder if he is on some other medication? I can think of a couple medications that might mix badly. One would likely kill him after a few days, or make him go completely insane. Such a shame really, especially since he was so agreeable about leaving.” Bruce just mumbled something about not caring what happened to me.
Back to us. “I would say that gas is bringing on an attack of the ‘nowhere’ medication,” said John, “that is not good. I hope Saranna can do something to help him.” Poor Sky was now kneeling beside me and crying. “I want to go back in there and get that man,” she said angrily. “Without guns that would not be a good move,” said John, “better to leave now like he wants, then come back again.” “Yes, I suppose you are right,” she said.
The two choppers arrived just as it was beginning to get dark. We all loaded in quickly and left. Sky told Rock what had happened and to take me directly to the hospital. “You are in charge now Rock,” she said. “We will be coming back,” he said, “that is a promise. But I would like to see what Saranna says about Steve first. And, we need a plan for coming back. We need to come back a little less openly next time.” “I agree with that,” said Sky.
They dropped me, Sky and MC at the hospital and the others continued home. Annelie had some news waiting about this doctor I had met. Fortunately I had been thinking straight while with this doctor and his friend Bruce. We have a new feature on our phones, an ability to take a photo, silently and then send it to one of the cats. I sent a photo of the doctor and Bruce to Muffin. It gets picked up in her collar and Chung then downloaded them to Annelie’s laptop.
She began her search right away, and also sent the pictures to Baldwin and Mandar, just in case they might know them. Baldwin did right away and called Annelie to give her a name for the doctor. The man was a real doctor, Baldwin’s personal physician at one time, years ago now. But Baldwin caught him selling some of his company secrets to the competition, so he was sent to prison for 10 years, but he has been out for 5 years now.
His name is James Wilson and apparently he was a good doctor, but it seems he has decided on a new career. His friend is Bruce James, oddly enough, a well known tough guy in the criminal world and actually worked for Victor on a couple of occasions. She found out that info from the Major. Now, if Saranna can just find out some information about what has happened to me.
Unfortunately when I awoke I was just yelling and making no sense whatever, plus I was totally violent so I had to be kept calm with tranquilizers. She was convinced that there must have been a bad reaction due to lingering effects of that ‘nowhere’ drug in me. That had her very concerned as she really did not know what to do.

Concerned indeed!😲😳 You need to find out what it is so Chung can make an antidote for it! I’m glad they were able to get you to the clinic in time!

Yes, this could be bad, hopefully something can be done and quickly! Too bad we don’t know what kind of gas was used on us, that might be helpful. I can see more problems coming.😧👩🙀🙀🙀🕵️♂️

Especially now that the Dr. Knows how his gas effects you!🤨 He could use it against again!!

That’s providing he really wants to hurt me. I think he just wanted to get us out of the way. However, if I was to go back, he might try it again. But, I don’t see me going back there anytime soon. Looks like Rock and the others will have to finish this one.🤔👩😐😼😼🕵️♂️

That sounds wise on many accounts! But will Mandar be satisfied? I’m sure he wants those jewels!!🤔

I’m sure Rock and team can handle it okay, but first they will have to get rid of the doctor and his friend, or friends, since there could be more. Just because I only saw Bruce doesn’t mean that no others are there. That doc might have a whole gang with him. He does have 2 more wolves too.🤔👩😐😼😼🕵️♂️

All true! Sounds like there needs to be an in depth research done on this document and his weaknesses before attempting to go after the jewels again!🤨

Yep, they will need to know as much as possible, but, they will also need to go in more secretly, if that is possible and perhaps with fewer people this time.🤔🕵️♂️

It’s not just the jewels, although they need to be returned to the rightful owners and not end up financing the bad guys! But, they also attacked us too!🤔🕵️♂️

Both excellent reasons, but is there a hurry?? You could keep an eye 👁 ( as in private) on him. Then act if needed, at least until you can come up with a good plan?

If the team waits too long, this guy might find the jewels and sell them before we can get them back. That would not be a good thing. He could get a lot of money for those jewels and finance his operations (pun intended) for a long time!🤔🕵️♂️

Yep, maybe if only a couple of them go this time, they might be able to stay hidden. I think Sky suggested burning the house down, but I don’t think Mandar would be happy with that.🤔🕵️♂️

Yep, I think he would like to make some money off these estates. Though I can’t imagine anyone wanting this place, no road into it. But the place was full of antique furniture and that library!! Wow!😃🤔🕵️♂️

Maybe you should have Mandar go out there to inspect the property with a few experts!😉😉 Ya know the kind with a keen EYE 👁 👀 😉😉😉

Somehow I don’t think Mandar will want to go out there with a mad doctor on the loose, and big wolves! He has a fear of dogs.😧🤔🕵️♂️

He was a gangster? Who would have guessed? Yes, that is true, but he always kept to the safe parts of things. That’s why he had men working for him, they did all the other stuff.🙄🕵️♂️

Well, that was different, it was in the family. Same with Lavina. Actually, he can be tough when he wants to be. But why take chances needlessly when you can pay others to take chances.🤔🕵️♂️

Mandar is a physician or surgeon, might he be familiar with the doctor? The use of gas and all the things you have gone through, surgery, multiple medications and with the Nowhere drugs makes things dicey. So many things could give a bad reaction. The doctor serving time in prison would make many stool pigeons willing to talk.

Mandar will be contacted about this man, but it seems this doctor only knew Baldwin, at least he only mentioned Baldwin’s name. Yes, sometimes the interaction of different drugs can be very severe indeed which could lead to permanent damage, or perhaps just temporary damage. Yes, we will be exploring all possibilities concerning this doctor. Undoubtedly he wants those jewels to finance whatever he is doing, so that might help us put a stop to him. But we need a plan, once we have our information. He just might have something more dangerous to use against us.🤔👩😐🙀🙀🙀🕵️♂️

Yes, it is time for a new plan! Couldn’t the doctor and his friends be arrested for Burglary? They are there without permission to steal!

But what if he was working for M? He might have permission from M to live out there and if he does not know that M is dead, he could claim he was just trying to deal with trespassers. Better not to bring the police in on this just yet. There might be more going on than we realize and we need to find out.🤔🕵️♂️

He obviously knew Marven and had him killed. Thought Marven might have mentioned the death of M. Your team has their work cut out for them. You need to get much information about this doctor and Bruce.

Perhaps he did, but the doctor still would not have to leave until notified by the new owner. Perhaps Marven tried to push the doctor around a bit and that got him killed. He may have told the doctor about the jewels hidden there expecting help from the doctor. Hard to know what might have happened.🤔🕵️♂️

Yes, hoping to scare us away. Obviously he did not know anything about us. Marven may not have had a chance to tell him anything. Hopefully the team can surprise him when they return.🤔🕵️♂️
