The Investigators, Inc. The Secret Estate Case. Chapter 7. Going Back.

The specialist that first treated me for that ‘nowhere’ drug arrived and decided that since it was close to my regular dose of the antidote, that they should give it to me now. Sky consented since it seemed like my only hope right now. The next day there did not seem to be any improvement, I was just as wild and violent as before, so I had to be kept calm with the tranquilizers. The day after I woke up groaning and Saranna came to check on me.

“My…head,” I said. “Does it hurt still?” she asked. “Yes…rub…head,” I responded. She began rubbing my head and after a few minutes I said more clearly that it felt good, so she kept rubbing. “Perhaps I should get Sigurbjorn over here to give you a massage,” she suggested, “would you like that?” “Yes, that would be nice,” I said, “thank you Saranna. I guess Sky does not want to be around me after how I treated her.”

“Not at all,” said Saranna, “she has been with you the whole time you have been here. She just went out to get freshened up and eat something. She will be back soon.” “Amazing,” I said. Sky did come back in the room about 10 minutes later and we started talking. “I should slap you,” said Sky. “No, you will not,” said Saranna sternly, “in here I am the boss and no one hits any of my patients, except maybe me.” Sky giggled.

“Oh, that sounds nice to here again,” I said, “did my pictures get through okay?” Sky then filled me in on what they have found out. She also said that Mandar, Rock and John were going back to the estate in the morning with the police to arrest that doctor. “No, call them, stop them, they cannot do that,” I said, “really, it is important.” So Sky called Mandar and he then wanted to talk with me. I told him that the doctor may have been working for M, therefore he would have permission to be there.

Perhaps he has been living there for quite some time, maybe since he got out of prison. Without knowing that M was dead, he would naturally stay there until the new owner, Mandar, told him he had to leave. So he would have a good alibi, even saying that he was just protecting the property from intruders and that we killed Marven and the other 2 men. We did kill the two men, in self defense, but it could be made to look otherwise. It is better to keep this to ourselves for now.

Mandar thought a bit, then agreed I was right. It was a good thing he had not yet called the police. Mandar does have the deed to the property now, which would give us the right to go on his behalf to tell that doctor to leave. If he does not, that is the time to call the police. That will give us some extra time to come up with a plan to find out what that doctor was doing out there, aside from looking for the jewels. Perhaps he did not even know the jewels might be hidden there until we showed up.

I remember that room where he had me, it looked much like a laboratory of some kind. And on one wall was the map of an unfriendly country. Perhaps he is also working for that country, so this could be something major that we have stumbled on. M may have been involved in that too. I was thinking, and talking, clearly now. Sigurbjorn showed up and I was finally getting a massage that I did not have for a few days now.

The next day Rock and John came by to talk about our case. “It would be dangerous to go in with a crowd like before,” I said, “he could see you coming in advance and be ready for you.” “Yes, that is what I was thinking too,” said Rock, “we would have to be dropped off before he could see us coming and walk through the forest to the estate. It is just too bad it is so open all around that house, just no way to sneak in except at night.”

“Then you go in at night,” I said, “do we still have the floor plan?” “No,” said John, “that doctor must have taken it from us while we were knocked out. But the girls drew it for us again, and it sure looks accurate.” “Good, I knew they could do it,” I said, “then it must show every possible way to get in. I know there is an outside entrance to one part of the basement and from there you can get into the kitchen.”

“Yep, that is exactly what I had thought too,” laughed Rock, “when should we go back?” “Wait a couple more days,” I said, “by then he should be convinced we decided to stay away and will relax.” They left, but Sky stayed with me. A few minutes later Angel came in and said I had another visitor…

  2. The doctor is very cocky and confident he is in charge. I hope the team takes some poisoned meat for the wolves who will be in a pack and ready to attack. If they are working for a foreign country, there will be trained military commandos. Will have to be careful with an excellent plan.
