Talking with Cam’s girlfriend was a waste of time, I really do not think she knew enough about anything to help us. Or she was a very good actor. But Sky seemed to think she was telling the truth, so we left her and went back to the hotel. I am sure the police arrived not long after we left, another reason for not staying too long. Better to stay away from the police as much as possible, since only the police chief knows about us.
At the hotel we gathered up all the papers and put them back into the boxes and then we talked about what we should do. “I think it would be better to leave now,” I said, “we did accomplish what we came here for, that is to find out who murdered Kathee’s parents and look for anything that might be related to that. We found a lot more than we thought and have enough to put those crooked cops in prison for a while.
There is also enough here to put Carnival in prison, which I would enjoy doing, but that is not really why we came. And we helped out Victor at the same time.” “It might be better to let Victor take care of Carnival,” said Ralph, “he has a lot of ways to do so, and he has ways to find him too.” “True,” I said, “that would be fine with me.”
Everyone on my team agreed it would be better to head back and go through the paperwork more thoroughly. “Plus, we really need to get MC back to our hospital where we can look after him better,” said Saranna, “and Li Jing knows more about looking after animals than I do.” Apparently MC is doing worse now and will not eat or drink.
Getting him home is important, and maybe having Muffin close by will help him too. Fortunately no one here knows where we live, so it would be much safer for us. Before we left, we had painted the insignia that Victor uses on his jets onto our jet, so it would look more like we came from him. So we will fly back there and drive home. Then Baldwin will send someone to pick up the jet and bring it back and change the insignia back to his own.
Fortunately Victor uses the same kind of jet that Baldwin has, bought from the same company, which Baldwin owns. Baldwin did not know who Victor was at the time or he likely would not have allowed the sale. But it did turn out good for us on this trip. I would like to find out why so much interest in these papers though. Perhaps other organizations just want to have information about Carnival and Victor?
It would be bad for Victor if rivals got hold of his information in these papers. Not that we support Victor, but I still would not want his rivals to have that info, better for the police to get it. But this time it goes back to Victor for his help to us on this case. Hmm, a couple of those cardboard boxes were not in very good shape. I decided we should go across the street to that store and pick up a suitcase to put them in.
So Sky, Kristina, Sigurbjorn and I went for a stroll. We got down to the lobby area and I spotted this yellow van parked outside. Something told me that we should turn around and go back upstairs. However, before we could do so, 6 men with guns were behind us with automatic guns in our backs. They took our guns and tossed them aside and told us to go out to the van. I knew that van was trouble.
The person at the front desk saw what was going on and called up to our room. Rock answered the phone, then quickly yelled for the guys to come and that we were in trouble. The elevator was on our the floor above so arrived quickly, but we were gone by the time they got downstairs. The woman at the front desk said we had been taken in a yellow van with the words, “Budget Cleaners” on the side.
Ralph and Carver had gotten our cars and they all gave chase, but to no avail, that van had disappeared. Back they came and Crystal told them that someone had called with a weird voice to say if they wanted to see us alive again, to leave the country at once. They talked about it for a while. “We should leave,” said Angel, “we can come back after we regroup and get this stuff safe, that is what Steve would want.” Rock agreed and soon they were flying home.
Meanwhile, The four of us woke up in a small rustic cabin in the mountains…

I’m not sure they would believe me, easy thing to say after they capture us. But where are we? How long were we knocked out? Is there any way out of here? They did leave us a note…🤔🕵️♂️

True, but at least I’m not alone this time, there are 4 of us. However, there is a bad part to that thought, which shall be revealed in the next chapter, which is the first chapter.🤔👩👩👩🕵️♂️

Well, Sky and I both have one, but their signal is only good for a certain distance, and that is quite far, however, we disappeared in Toronto, so why would the team look for us in the mountains? Therefore they are well out of signal range. And are we still in Canada? Or were we taken somewhere else? This could take some time.🤔👩👩👩🕵️♂️

Yes it could if you were taken to another country!😬 It looks as though you’ll need to walk 🚶♂️ out of the mountains 🤔 remember that the moss grows on the north side of trees!😉🤭

Walking out could be dangerous, and it could take months depending where we are. We have no food or any way to protect ourselves. So walking out is out. I would never last anyway. By the way, moss also grows on the south, east and west sides.🤔🕵️♂️

But we have Sigurbjorn with us and she is our wilderness survival expert. That will help us a bit, and we will need help until our team can find Carnival and make him tell where we are!🤔🕵️♂️

Sure, burn down the only cabin we have to live in. And how are we supposed to light this fire? Fireflies? and use fireweed for kindling?🤔🙄🕵️♂️

I would like to be rescued, but preferably without getting BBQ’d in the process. But we do need to be rescued within a month at the latest or I will go past my due date for the nowhere medication.😲🕵️♂️

Desperate times call for desperate actions. We might be able to find berries and leaves and other plants we can eat. And hopefully some water too. Water is kind of necessary if we have to stay here long.🤔🕵️♂️

Sounds like they used some sort of sleeping gas again. It is hard on one’s body having all those toxic chemicals in the body. A mountain cabin could be in any number of locations. Have to use basic survival skills.

Yes, and where we are is important to know. Sky and I have our emergency transmitters now, but their range is limited, even though greatly expanded from before. And since we disappeared in Toronto, that is likely where the team will be looking for us. I think their only hope in finding us quickly is to find Carnival quickly, otherwise it might take a while. Trying to walk out somewhere would not be a good idea, I could never last since it could take a long time depending where we are. At least Sigurbjorn is with us, she is our wilderness survival expert.🤔👩👩👩🕵️♂️

Emergency transmitters are not too good unless they are connected to satellites. Most of the wilderness does not have good wireless coverage. Sigubjorn should be helpful. So many things you can eat in the wild, if you know what is edible. Would be helpful to know how you got there.

Yes, that is a problem, we are hooked into satellite coverage, which extended our range by quite a bit. It worked in our trials anyway, hopefully it works now. But they will still need to be within a certain area to locate us. As long as we are found within a month we are okay, but by then I need my medication for the “nowhere” drug. So there is a time problem. We will find out more about how we got here soon. Rather novel idea used.🤔🕵️♂️

You should be rescued within a week or less. Foraging may help you a bit but you need water also. I am sure your captors will be making their presence known soon, along with certain demands.

Somehow I don’t think it will happen so quickly, but it would be nice. We might be able to catch some wildlife for meat, if we can figure out how, and can find some. Hopefully the team can find Carnival and capture him alive to make him talk, or we could have some serious problems on our end. Yes, we need water too for sure, can’t last long without that.🤔🕵️♂️

Well, I don’t think we messed up, there were 4 of us going out so we were following the rules. But we can’t always outsmart our enemies. Hopefully we will be found quickly.🤔👩👩👩🕵️♂️
