The Investigators, Inc. The Case of Baldwin’s Murder. Chapter 9. The Big 10.

Well, we do know who we are chasing this time, that is a big plus. All work for Baldwin and would each have received a part of the remaining 25% of his Corporation. That is a lot really considering the size of the Baldwin Corporation. But they all got greedy and wanted everything for themselves. Now, instead of being billionaires, they are on the run.

Each of them are married with families, except for the one posing as Toledo, he is the only single man in the group. So the next thing is to question each wife to try and get some information about the whereabouts of their husbands. And try to convince them of the seriousness of what is going on. If they hold back information, then they too can be arrested as an accomplice to murder, kidnapping and a few other things.

That would also give them a long prison sentence along with their husbands, and being separated from their children. So, hopefully they will cooperate with us, otherwise we hand them over to the police. The first two we visited had adult children, so the threat of being separated from them was not very effective and they were very uncooperative.

Since all 10 families were living in houses provided by, yet owned by, Baldwin Corporation, I issued orders to them to move out within 60 days, the length of time so stated in their husbands contract with Baldwin Corporation. Sky, Catalina, Galyna, Muffin and I then went to visit the third wife. She had 3 young children, aged 2, 4 and 6. When told she could end up in prison for her part in this affair, she broke down crying.

She told us that she had tried to stop her husband from getting involved with the others and be satisfied with their share, but he had finally convinced her that this would be perfectly safe and they would have more money than they could ever imagine. I told her that now they have forfeited their right to even the original portion and will instead go to prison.

But, we would make sure that things went easy for her if she helped us find those men. We knew they must be hiding together somewhere since they would want to keep an eye on each other right now. She agreed that they were together, but she did not know where. She then asked to get something to drink, so I let her go to the kitchen.

Meow,meow.=She not tell truth, she lie about last part. I looked over at Galyna. “Yes, I agree with Muffin,” she said, “she has been telling the truth, I believe, until the last part. She does know, I am sure of it.” Well, I am certainly not going to doubt Muffin and Galyna, I brought them along to help with sorting out lies from truth. The woman came back and sat down.

“Now, let us begin with that last part,” I said, “where are your husband and the others hiding?” “I, I said already,” she began, “I do not know.” “I believe you do know,” I said, “we all believe that, now, please cooperate and tell us where they are hiding. Otherwise you will miss the growing years of your children and I am sure you do not want that.”

“I need time to think it over,” she said, her voice shaking. “No, there is no time to waste,” I said, “we need your answer now.” Suddenly there was a shot and the sound of breaking glass as the bullet came through the window, and the woman fell to the floor. Sky and Catalina ran to the door and saw a man running to a car on the street.

Sky shot the man and Catalina unloaded her entire clip to stop the car. The two ran outside. The man who shot through the window was dead, as was another man in the car, but the driver of the car surrendered. We then called the police to come and take him away. The police already knew we were here questioning the woman. She was still alive and was rushed to the hospital and a police guard was put on her room.

She will survive, but we have to wait to talk with her again. Her sister came to take care of the children. The next wife on our list lived not too far away and was good friends with this woman who had been shot. Perhaps that will make her more willing to talk with us. I brought more team members along on this visit to make sure there is no shooting of this woman. She too has young children, ages 2 and 5. Unfortunately…
