For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! It is another beautiful day, the sun is shining, there is a light breeze and it is warm, which is a big plus for us northerners. After all, we do not get temperatures like this very often, so when we do, we tend to complain that it is too hot. Not me however. I like it. I mean, most of the year it is cold, so why not enjoy the heat while we have it?
These hot days do not last long here in the north, and really, it is not that hot yet. We can get it much hotter than this, at least we used to get hotter weather. Now it is rare to get that kind of hot weather where the temp would actually get up to 90 to 100F (32 to 39C). And it would last for weeks.

Canada Goose goslings.
Then our weather cooled down by the late 1990s and kind of stayed that way. Now, hot weather is when the temp reaches 75 to 85F (24 to 30C). Oh well, I will enjoy it anyway. Far better than that cold of winter, that is for sure! Hmm, seems like the clouds are blocking the sun now.
I have been chasing 3 butterflies and a dragonfly, trying to get pics of them. So far, nothing. The problem is they will not sit down and I cannot get a pic of them flying, although that would be nice. Taking pics of flying creatures just does not work for me.

This little one just had a drink of water.
Speaking of flying creatures, the nighthawks are back. I heard them “buzzing” as they flew around last night. A typical night sound in the summer. Speaking of night sounds, the frogs are really active with their “singing” right now. There are a lot of frogs out there this year, the most I have heard since moving to this location 7 years ago.
There are also at least 4 gray tree frogs around here this year too. They talk to each other at different times during the day. They are a fun little frog that changes color according to their surroundings. I was up early again this morning, 4:30, the chorus of birds singing at that time is just so amazing.

There were 8 goslings in this family.
I enjoy mornings, even very early mornings, a lot happens in nature in the morning. It is a busy time for the birds, and other creatures too. All such wonderful country pleasures, and a morning to relax. Perhaps it is time to sit outside again. I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
