Thursday’s Thoughts, With Coffee! #23

Good morning on this beautiful, sunshiny day! The sky is a wondrous blue, the sun is shining bright and warm and there is just a light breeze. A fabulous day. I had something I would have liked to do today, but the forecast yesterday called for cloudy skies and rain. Not good for what I wanted to do.

So I gave up that idea. Now it turns out to be a perfect morning, could not ask for better. But now it is too late. Sigh. Next week is supposed to be nice, so maybe… or not. Have to wait and see. There are two different butterflies around here these days, one is a new one, and I almost got a pic of it when it landed just 3 feet away from me.

This area of the path is great for finding butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies. Also good for certain hard to find wildflowers.

But it did not stay long enough. Sigh. Perhaps I will get it today. There is also a dragonfly around that is different from any I have been able to photograph, but it too does not like to sit still for very long. Maybe today. Sigh. But if things were always easy, it would not be fun. It is good to have a challenge.

In this instance, it helps to grow patience, which is something we all need. So, we need challenges, although if the challenge becomes too difficult, that can be a problem too. There is a wildflower I have been trying to get a pic of as well, ever since I got my camera in 2018.

Although it does not look it, this part is fairly steep, just the way I took the picture.

I still have not got a pic of that wildflower, and now it is too late for this year. Their blooming period is rather short, and is over now. And I have to go further afield to get a pic of one. I like to set some goals for my photography, pics I would like to get of different things and I then put them into different categories of easy, hard and difficult.

This area is quite level and home to my squirrel friend, Scramble.

That one butterfly is in the difficult category, this is the first year I have seen one since getting my camera. And it will not be around much longer, so, today I will be spending more time outside to hopefully get a pic of that one. That would be a big highlight of the year for me. Yeah, I get excited about strange things.

And here we are, just getting to the river.

My main goal is to get pics of as many species of the flora and fauna of our area as possible. It is fun. For me at least. The pics today are showing parts of the path that I have walked to the river. Not this year, yet, but from other years. All were taken in July. I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!

    • Great day!🌞😸 Except for those butterflies laughing at me,🦋🦋 landing just long enough for me to get close, then flying away into the neighbors yard, sticking their tongues out at me as they flew away!!😂😹🦋🙄 But I had fun and got some pics of other things anyway.📷 Maybe tomorrow? Enjoy your Friday Simon!😊😻🌞

  2. Cooler today…just right for me…but there is smoke from the fires in Alberta…the pathway looks so inviting ! Do the bears take advantage of it or not ? …Sleep if you can ! 😍😻😴❗️

    • Yes, cooler a bit, but not too bad though. Some smoke is just arriving here, but it’s high flying smoke. Not sure if the bears use the path or not,🤔🐻 but I would think they might, it’s easy walking. Sleep? And here I was trying to stay awake.😂 Have a good night!😊😻🌛😴💤
