Tuesday’s Chats. #2 More Country Pleasures.

Good morning everyone! It is a beautiful, sunny morning here today. The sky is a vivid blue and that is a real country pleasure. The birds were happily singing early this morning, about 4:20am, but it is daylight by then so birds should be awake. Early summer mornings with birds singing is a real country pleasure as well.

I could hear some Common Loons calling to each other this morning, and one was flying while joining in with the conversation between the other loons. Common Loons are not so common anymore, so listening to them is even more beautiful, seeing them is a real treat, and getting a picture of them is a real wonderful country pleasure.

Common Loon on the river.

We do still have a lot of loons right in our area due to the many lakes we have where loons can raise their young unmolested by boaters.

My little friend Scramble the Red Squirrel.

Visiting my little friend Scramble, a red squirrel, along the path to the river is another country pleasure. He went from sitting a long distance away waiting for me to leave before coming to get the peanuts I left him, to coming right up to me when I called him to get his peanuts. It took a while to make friends since I did not see him very often.

Part of the river path.

Walking along a country path is also a real country pleasure. Enjoying all that the forest has to offer in bountiful beauty.

These are called Twinflower, tiny and very fragrant.

Enjoying the beauty of wildflowers on the forest floor is another wonderful country pleasure that I always enjoy.

Sitting beside the river, just relaxing and enjoying the calming beauty of watching the water flow past, with the forest trees lining the edges of the river, the water lapping at the rocky shore and that vivid blue sky, a true country pleasure.

White Pelicans enjoying some sun time.

Also while sitting there I get to watch the magnificent White Pelican, sometimes in larger numbers of 40 or 50 of them, swimming about on the river or sitting on the rocks by the shore, sunning themselves and preening their feathers. This is a real country pleasure.

Well, I will stop here and continue my list another time. There are just so many things I could mention that I need to split it up. I hope you have a beautiful Tuesday and God bless!
