For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning on this very rainy Wednesday! It began raining during the night and really poured down a few times. Now it is just kind of a steady type rain and the temperature has definitely dropped from yesterday, and should continue to drop throughout the day. We topped 80F yesterday and today our high is supposed to be 54F (12C). Quite a difference for sure.
It was very beautiful yesterday, so Muffin wanted to go out on the balcony room again. So, I got everything together and out we went to dig up geraniums to bring inside for the winter. Muffin really enjoyed that part and she helped me decide which geraniums to bring inside. She would sniff around the plants and if she stopped and looked at me, then I would dig up that geranium.

I always like a leafy path in the fall, it is a real country pleasure, this one is in one of our parks.
We ended up with 6 of them, although there is a seventh that Muffin had picked out, so I might dig up that one too. I am not sure I really have room for it though, which is why I did not dig it up yesterday. But Muffin turned out to be a good helper. I am not really sure that she was actually picking out geraniums or not, but it did look that way. And we had fun doing it too.
Muffin went back inside before I did though, since my part took a lot longer and she was getting bored. It is nice having the living room all settled the way it should be. It makes everything much more relaxing. Although there is one thing I want to change, but it might take a while to get that done. It still looks good this way though, but it would be better to move one thing to a different spot.

Along the shore of a small lake in town.
It will make things easier for dusting purposes. And safer too. Now I am working on finishing the bedroom. A nice comfortable bedroom is essential for a good night’s sleep. As for the “cave”, I mean, kitchen, that is going to take a bit longer. I need to find the right kind of table for it so I can get everything set up the way I want.
I would like to get that done soon, but it may take longer. Oh well. But I do like how things are turning out and Muffin seems to like it as well. She especially likes having her “high bed” once again. I put her favorite blanket on top of a tall cabinet in the bedroom and she found that fast! From the window sill it is only a 3 foot (about 1 meter) jump which is easy for her.

The opposite shore of that lake above.
So that is where she sleeps most of the time now, except at night when she sleeps with me. Well, today the pics are from the fall of 2021. Hope you enjoy them. Have a wonderful day and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

I’m glad you and Muffin seem to be settling in nicely, it sounds like you almost have things just the way you both like them.
And your photos are beautiful, btw.

Thanks Sheri! Yep, nearly all done, getting on to the finishing touches like hanging pictures. Then I have to get busy with dusting. Sigh.
Thank you so much, have a great day Sheri!ππΊββππ

That’s great.. minus the dustingβdusting is one of those necessary evils no one warns you about. πΆπ
And thank you! Are you feeling any better?

Yes, I am feeling much better from that fall, thank you. However this cold damp weather we are having is certainly making my arthritis bad these days. Oh well, minor things.
Yep, that dusting is no fun, takes a lot of time, is no fun, is tedious, is no fun, is ongoing and above all, is no fun!ππΉππ

Glad to hear you’re sort of? feeling better. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to have arthritis in the kind of cold you get up there. Prayers that it eases up.
And dusting is pointless. You end up stirring a bunch of crap into the air.. just for it to all settle back where it was. It’s not a battle you can win.

Yes, arthritis and cold weather are not good companions, that is for sure.
I agree, it does not take long for that dust to return and it seems I just get it all done and I have to start all over again. Sigh. Yep, a lost battle before it begins!π¬πππ

Sounds like the flowers will add a nice touch to your new apartment! With the added benefits of filtering the air for both of you! I hope you don’t have the same smelly issue you had with the neighbor at your new place. I still don’t know how you were able to put up with that!π€’ How is the Muffin doing these days? She sounds like a wonderful assistant with a green paw!!πΈπ

Well, that is one problem here, there are at least 2 people on my floor that smoke weed and that is perfectly legal here in our province even though regular smoking has to be outdoors or in a special room. It can get bad at timesπ
Yeah, the plants will help with the air quality, I hope anyway.π
Muffin is doing great, she has settled in nicely even though moving day was hard on her. She still has lots of energy too!πΌπΉ

She’s a good kitty and still young in spirit! But moving can be traumatic for cats!

Yep, this move hit her hard too, it took her about a week to mainly settle in, but she still gets upset by noises of people in the hall. She thinks they are coming here. And when we had the fire drill test one morning, she was messed up for the rest of the day! But it was very loud!π¬π

That would frighten me too! Those things can be unbearably loud!

It certainly was loud! But I guess it needs to be for some people. For me it could be a few decibels less, much less!

Steve, I enjoyed the visit. You are staying busy, and Muffin serves as an effective assistant. My wife and I have been emptying a small storage unit, which has housed many of her mother’s treasures. We are nearing the end of this journey.

Thank you Richard, nice that you dropped in!
Yes, since my brother passed away back in the spring, I have been getting rid of some things, and should get rid of a lot more. It is time to have less.ππΊββππ

Things are coming along well, it seems. Muffin has a green thumb ! I have a theory that cats are keen botanists and that’s why they are so interested in plants. π Happy week-end to Muffin and you !

I agree, cats are very interested in plants. They like to eat them, shred them, toss them on the floor and more!πΉ Thank you, hope you have a nice weekend too.ππΊππ
