For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! I have been sitting here watching the morning awaken once more, and enjoying my coffee as well. It has been an interesting morning. There was frost again last night, that is 3 nights in a row now. Everything gets that shiny white look which masks the true colors of things.
The grass really glistens with countless sparkles as the sun begins to shine upon it. The morning mist was hanging among the trees on the edge of town. It was easy to see that furnaces were busy in houses and other buildings all around the area. I had the heat on in my apartment too.

There is a large creek over that way, possibly where the mist comes from.
It is electric heat here in our building. It was just getting some daylight in the sky when I first looked out the window this morning. Then the sun began to shine somewhat on the mist producing an almost orange glow to the landscape. There was a curved ribbon of clouds on the horizon which really glowed with this orange color, but soon the sun was past the clouds and began to shine with its full strength.
However, before that I spotted two deer, both does, just across the street, munching away at the longer grass in that yard. Their fur coat was looking rather ragged as they are changing from their summer to winter coat. They know that winter is coming, so they are filling up with all that nice green grass while they can still get at it easily. I tried to get pics of them, but they did not turn out very well.

There was not much light at the time and they were in a heavily shaded area anyway. One of the deer stayed mostly hidden behind a shrub and cars that were parked on the street in front of that house. But I did get a couple of pics that were not too bad. Perhaps they will show up again when I go for my walk later.
A friend and I went driving around yesterday and I was able to get some nice fall pics. I will be showing them over the next few days. But not today. Today are the pics from this morning. Muffin was very active and playful this morning.

One of the deer munching on the frosty grass.
We played twice as long as usual and I do not think she was quite ready to quit even then. But I was hungry. Muffin had already eaten. She did not like me stopping so suddenly. So she came over beside me and grabbed the rug I was standing on with those long claws of hers.
We played some more. I was not as hungry as I thought. Oh well. Looks like it will be another beautiful day. I think it is supposed to reach 50F (10C) today. I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
