For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning and Happy Sunday! Well, as you know, I like finding different things in nature that we often overlook and use it for my Nature’s Art series. I like to find the unusual, or even the usual, but unnoticed things that we might walk past and not pay attention to it. Well, I am starting up again though I am not sure how long I can keep it up, since I have a limited selection to choose from right now.

Here is some Lichen on a granite rock, often overlooked, but there are so many varieties and the different textures and shapes can make it very interesting to photograph.
But I hope you will enjoy this as we continue to look at this amazing art. Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless!

Amazing! While I’ve often seen Lichen scattered on a fallen tree trunk, I’ve never seen them on a rocky mass.

Yes, Lichen is often on fallen trees, but here in the north we have several varieties that just grow on solid rock.ππΊπ·

Yes, it is a plant, hard and brittle and grows on solid rock. It is very nutritious, I have eaten it after boiling it into a soup. Not much flavor by itself though.
Glad you enjoyed it Simon!ππ»π·ββ

I like to try some of our wild edibles now and then. It does take a while to cook though.π
