For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! Ready to relax with another cup of coffee and a quick chat? It is a lovely day, sun is shining, sky is blue and it is windy, very windy. And mild. It was 58F (14C) this morning and it is now 66F (19C). The birds are singing so beautifully this morning. Ouch, there it is again. That loud drilling in the hallway. They are changing all the florescent light fixtures for LED light fixtures instead.
They are supposed to be changing the ones in the apartments too. I only have 2 in my apartment, the rest are already LED. Muffin does not like that drill, it is very noisy going through that metal. It doesn’t last long though. But they do need to drill a lot of holes it seems. A friend and I drove around a bit yesterday to get some pictures of the flowering trees around town. We just stayed in one area of town really.

Too bad those electrical wires got in the way. That’s a big problem in this town.
There are some beautiful flowering trees and shrubs out there though. Mostly it is crab apple, apple and mock cherry. Some are supposed to be real cherry, but no one ever eats them. Except the birds. They eat the mock cherry fruit as well. This is a fantastic year for the flowering trees and shrubs. Probably due to all the moisture we have had this year.

This one is such a beauty.
Apparently they are forecasting a hot and dry summer for us though, which could lead to a lot of forest fires in our area. June could see some cooler than normal temps in the first half of the month. But we are supposed to have some prolonged hot spells this summer. We will see if they are right this time. A lot of their long range forecasts do not arrive the same way we are told. Oh well. Minor details.
Hmm, a few clouds are beginning to show up on the horizon. We might get some showers later today. I should go out for a walk before that happens. At one time I enjoyed walking in the rain, when it was just a light summer shower. Or even a heavier shower was fine if it was warm. Now I kind of prefer to stay dry. But that is just me.

A couple of smaller trees so we get one of each color.
Not many birds singing right now, must be eating. Or sleeping. Sometimes I think some of these birds are awake all night singing. I hear them at midnight and at 3 am they are still singing, then at 6am they are still singing. Quite amazing really. But very nice too. Well, I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
