For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! It is a beautiful, sunny day here, but very windy again making it feel cooler than it is. Right now the temperature is 52F (11C), which is warmer than yesterday’s high of 46F (8C). The fall colors were so nice yesterday morning and I was planning to go out for some pictures since the forecast was for sunshine in the morning. But when morning arrived, it was completely cloudy. Sigh.
So I tried for this morning instead. But, this strong wind began overnight and by this morning most trees were bare of leaves! And the leaves were blowing off the trees in large amounts this morning, from those trees that still had leaves. But I did get out and took some pictures. In one location we saw a chipmunk run across the road ahead of us. Was he ever moving! For such a small animal, they sure can run fast.

And he is out late too. Usually by this time chipmunks are in their little underground homes, ready for a long winter. But I guess because of the warmer than normal weather some of them are still out gathering food. That will definitely help them eat better this winter. I have not seen the little chipmunk again that I saw here the other day. Too bad. But maybe I have been out the wrong time of day.

Muffin is enjoying herself, sleeping in her patch of sunshine on the window sill. Periodically she turns over to get her other side warmed up. I’m not sure if she actually wakes up when she does that, even though she stands to change sides. But her eyes don’t open. And she just kind of flops down on her other side and she is sleeping again. I wonder if I do that when I sleep? That’s one of those deep psychological thoughts to keep you awake at night.

Personally, I have enough other thoughts that keep me awake at night, so I will skip that one. Here’s one that I actually tried once, just as an experiment. I got to bed early and said to myself, if I fall asleep right away, I will actually get 8 hours of sleep tonight. Two hours later. If I fall asleep right away, I will still get 6 hours of sleep tonight. Morning arrives. Well, I got 3 hours of sleep last night.
I don’t recommend that experiment though. Sigh. Anyway, time to do some cleaning. Oh, the fall photos above are from this morning. Have a great day everyone and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

They tell us Canada air is coming south to Kentucky and even past us this week. While some of us appreciate it, I don’t understand why you guys get to claim the good air!š

They tell us you Canadians are sending some of your air to Kentucky and even past us in the south! While some of us appreciate it, I do not get why YOU get to claim the air. Did you buy it from Russia or the Arctic Circle Dollar Club?š
