For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! Well, I’m not totally sure yet, but I think this will be the last of my Fall Ramblings. Next time I just might begin my Christmas Ramblings. We don’t have any snow on the ground yet, but that is supposed to change next week and the temperature is also supposed to change at the same time. Besides, it is the middle of November and fall is past. Way past. The leaves are gone. The trees are bare.
It is back to those cold, rainy days of that in between time. In between the beauty of fall and that next season. In between the beauty of fall and that next season, we have Christmas. And winter is arriving a bit late this year and normally it would be white outside and the Christmas decorations would be out. There are no Christmas decorations yet. But they have to come out soon or there won’t be any point putting them out.

If I’m going to decorate, it will last for a while. Otherwise I don’t want to put in the effort to decorate. My mom always began with decorating once there was snow on the ground, or November 1, whichever came first. I used to follow that tradition too. I have changed a bit. Now it’s mid November or when the snow arrives, whichever is first. I usually get my Christmas cards sent out the last week of November. Looks like our post office will be on strike this Christmas, starting very soon.

So, I guess that means no Christmas cards this year. Saves a bit of money I guess. But I like getting cards. And I like sending cards. Oh well. Yesterday was cold, cloudy and it rained most of the day. Today it is cold, cloudy and with drizzle now and then. It is that cold dampness that just seems to penetrate right through a person. Good day to stay indoors and drink hot chocolate.
Yesterday and today I have been cleaning. I’m down to the end of my fall cleaning now. Once that is done, the Christmas decorations come out. Muffin likes that part. More toys to play with. Although she is not supposed to play with them. I tried to explain that to her. I lost. Oh well. I would like to get a Christmas tree this year. Not a real one, a fake one. Not a huge one either.

Then I would have to buy more decorations. And those decorations are expensive. If I had our old family decorations I would definitely have a tree. But I don’t, so I probably won’t. Oh well. I like this kind of weather though, it really gets me into a cleaning mood. I just took a short break right now to write now. Hope you all have a great rest of your day and God bless!

Don’t forget to show pics of the white evidence that God exists and loves us for us underprivileged people who live too far south to see much snow!š„¶š

Hi Steve, I also like sending mail, cards, etc. in the mail. āļø
If youāre ever looking for a penpal Iād be happy to send you some mail. Tbh I wasnāt sure if I was going to send mail at all this year because people donāt seem to reciprocate. Snail mail is becoming a lost art.

Oops, not sure how I missed this one, sorry Hilary! Hey, I would love to have a penpal. I used to have over 40 pen pals at one time but writing letters, sending cards, has gone out of fashion unfortunately, so all but one has stopped now. Of course now the post office is on strike but once that is over I would enjoy writing!
Hope you are having a great day Hilary!ššŗāāā

Hi Hilary, I finally got the email sent this morning with my address. Hopefully this postal strike doesn’t last too long, it will mess up Christmas mail if it does.
