Hello everyone! Well, we actually got some rain yesterday, not a great deal, but every little bit helps against those fires. There are currently more than 35,000 people that have had to evacuate their homes due to the forest fires.
One fire is now more than a million acres (about 405,000 ha) in size, another is around 700,000 (283,000ha) acres. The closest big fires to us are 80,000 (33,000 ha) acres and 250,000 (101,000 ha) acres in size.
Popcorn Senna, one of it’s many common names due to the fact it actually smells like buttered popcorn.
There are also a lot of smaller fires in the 10 to 50 thousand acre size. We should be getting showers and cooler weather for a few days now, so that will slow down the fires.

Love all the colorful flowers, with the pops of color. These are flowers that are cultivated, in my area. The midnight sun intensifies the brightness of the flowers, here. May the weather in your area become cooler and more rain come. So far, we only have small wild fires due to cold and rainy weather. A few days ago it got below freezing which is extremely unusual for this time of year.

Glad you liked the flowers! Well, I’m not so sure about the cooler part, but more rain for sure. But that’s just me! Actually, a few cool days are a good thing too right now. I hope it doesn’t get below freezing here, that would finish my flowers. The latest I have seen freezing temps here is June 8, we actually got 2 inches of snow that day too. Have a great week!😊😺📷🌸

Thanks c. a., we do need rain desperately. Here in our area we have had some rain, though not a lot, but it has helped. Unfortunately, where the fires are burning they have only had a little light drizzle, nothing to stop those big fires, but the cooler weather will help slow them down somewhat. There has been over 4 million acres burn so far and our normal fire season is just starting!
