For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Greetings everyone! Happy Monday to you as well. It is a nice, mainly sunny day here, but still remaining cool, with a high of around 66F (19C) expected today. Much better than yesterday when our high was just 15F (59C). Plus, yesterday was cloudy and very windy from the north. There is still a slight north wind today, but not nearly as bad as yesterday. If is fall, so cooler temps are to be expected from now on. Anyway, here is another favorite photo of mine.

It is the Snowberry Clearwing moth, which had decided to actually sit down and rest for a while. I spotted it land and managed to get a nice photo of it. They don’t seem to land and rest very often, so I was very happy to get this photo. These are commonly called hummingbird moths. I will be showing more of this moth in an upcoming Insect post. Have a great day and God bless!

Thanks! It’s only 25mm long, so it’s easy to miss them.

Great capture, Steve! Our temps are cooler too! This morning, it was 65F, and tomorrow will be even cooler! I doubt summer is over in our area, but it’s nice to dream. π

Thanks so much Eugenia! Finding one sitting was just so exciting! I saw on the weather map that the cool air would extend to your area, but didn’t think it would get that cool! So many leaves are turning yellow now, it is quite surprisingπππ₯
