For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! It is a beautiful day here, well, it was anyway. It was warm and sunny earlier and now the clouds have moved in to block the sun once again. It’s still warm though, kind of anyway, with a temperature of 56F (13C).
The birds are so active now, singing from the tops of trees all around the neighborhood. It sounds so nice! Soon the first wildflowers of the season will start to bloom, and that will be the dandelions.

Grass-Leaved Arrowhead, with a flower fly.
Their bright and cheery yellow is a welcome sight to many of our early insects and also the hummingbirds when they begin to show up.

Round-Leaved Pyrola.
But, for now, we will still need to look at wildflower photos from previous years, mostly from last year. I hope you enjoy the bright and beautiful colors, and some odd flowers.

Swamp Thistle. Not many people like thistles, but these swamp thistles play an important role in the swampy areas around here, providing nourishment to many insects.
Have a great week everyone and God bless!
