For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! I’m back with more of our wildflowers for you to enjoy! Since this is Mother’s Day, I just had to include the white Fragrant Water-lily. These beautiful water flowers can get up to 6 inches (15cm) across, though 5 inches (12.5cm) is more common.
This was by far my mom’s favorite wildflower and she always looked forward to July when these would begin to bloom. This is contrasted with the Water Speedwell which is one of our smallest wildflowers at just 1/4 inch (6mm) or less.

It is another cold, cloudy and windy day with a high of just 41F (5C). That would normally be considered cold for a night time low temperature in a normal year at this time in May. No sign of wildflowers, or even leaves, coming out yet.

There was actually a dusting of snow on the ground this morning with snowflakes falling throughout the day so far. But, the winter snow is gone and the ice has finally disappeared from our lake, at least from areas that I could see this morning.
Have a great day everyone and God bless!
