Steffie had just finished her little speech and everyone throughout the chateau had gone silent while she spoke. Cristy had allowed everyone in the chateau to hear Steffie, all but Jennifer and I. We were in my office and Cristy turned off the speaker into the office so we couldn’t hear what was going on. At first Friskie had reprimanded Steffie for saying her aunties were bad, but now she was silent too. Sky had heard Jennifer and I talking before Steffie began her speech and she “sneaked” some donuts from the other girls to bring to me as a present while she apologized to me.

Sky has the ability to hear me talking no matter where I am, even if I’m half way around the world. She just doesn’t normally use that ability unless necessary. However, at times she likes to listen in, the sneak. I think Jennifer is angry just like Steffie and she says that there will be some major changes within the Investigators from now on. Sky agreed that changes need to be made. “We need to get those changes done quickly,” said Sky, “I know you can do it Steve.” “That was a quick move from ‘we’ to ‘you’,” I said sighing. “Well, you are the leader,” she said smiling.

“Sometimes I’m not so sure about that,” I replied. “I will be making the changes myself if Steve doesn’t get things moving,” said Jennifer. “Oooh, sounds interesting,” said Sky excitedly. The Black Wolves and Wildcats made it back home safely and I announced to everyone that tomorrow was going to be a free day to just relax, then we would have a team picnic two days later since that is the date that Muffin and I launched the Investigators, Inc. Everyone was totally excited about that and much of the work was already done by the home team during this last case.

That case is officially closed since there really was nothing else we could do anyway. We did close down what we could of that international gang of sex traffickers and whatever else they were. With help from Kat, Samantha was able to get Harley up and walking around again so that she will be able to participate in our anniversary picnic. Yes, we did do a little misleading of our enemies in order to bring them out in the open so that we could stop them. We just never imagined how big that group was!

I’m so glad that Harley survived, I would have felt totally responsible for her death because we never checked out her family before sending her back home. That is something we are going to do from now on though, just in case. We had to make things look good just in case we were being watched. We almost lost John though and although Samantha says he will recover, she isn’t sure if he will recover fully so he can go on cases. I think that will be harder on John than it is on me having to stay home. However, there are other ways he could still work for us, such as a driver, something that we always need.

The day between our free day and our picnic we will be having a team leaders meeting which will also include all ghosts, Samantha, Galyna, Celestine, Victoria and Sienna. I wanted our doctor and 3 counselors to be in attendance to give their opinion on some things. Sienna also has a wealth of knowledge that she can share with us. Storm, Jewel and Snow will also attend this meeting. I even called Mandar to join us if he has the time as I’m sure he could also have much wisdom to share with us.

He wasn’t quite sure if he could make it until I mentioned our anniversary picnic that would be on the following day. He then said there was indeed an opening on his calendar so he would be happy to join us. Nothing like food to get Mandar’s attention! Well, the day of our meeting has now arrived after a very relaxing day yesterday and our meeting is now underway. I told everyone that we need better communication from now on, especially keeping me informed as to what is happening on a case. So they will give me a daily update, more often if there is a problem of any kind.

Team leaders will also pick a junior leader who can take their place in an emergency. They will each give me their pick but I will have the final say. Junior leaders can’t be any of the ghosts, however, since the ghosts get moved around a lot on cases even though normally assigned to a specific team. We will also have a team leaders meeting before all cases so everyone knows what is going on first hand. There will be two ghosts at home at all times, which is something we do now, but we will try to change which of them stays home each time so that all get a chance to go on cases too.

I will not be confined to my office, or even inside, as long as both ghosts are with me at all times while outside. And one of them will have to hold my hand at all times while outdoors in order to ensure my safety. Jennifer will stay home most of the time with me as one of the ghosts, unless she specifically needs to be on a case. Mandar is going to provide extra security for our picnic so that all of our team can participate.

The last time we had such a large team picnic we were attacked by Toledo and Kat was killed. Mandar wants to make sure there is no such repeat, especially since he will be here too. Well, I wonder what kind of case we will have come our way next? I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as a simple case for us, but perhaps something that isn’t quite so complex would be nice. We shall see.

  1. It was nice that she thought of you as strange. Uh um well that didn’t come out right🙄. But it was nice she thought of you😁. Yeah, don’t worry about the writing, I remember when you took a weeks vacation and it worked out fine. It’ll come back to you.

    • Yeah, guess it means she thinks I’m goofy looking,😂 so maybe I should start calling myself Goofy. Oh wait, can’t do that, someone else has that name already.🙄 Guess I’ll have to stay with “Stupid Steve”, fits better anyway!🙃 Yeah, I want to finish this story though before taking some time off. But then, I don’t have anything to do when I take time off to do nothing. I should have something to do when I’m not doing anything. Hmm.🤔

  2. Well… we all have our little things that make us special to others, at least you were thought of! And that is good!
    How’s the hobby search progress? Might be a good time to give it another thought or two.🤔

    • Yep, I agree with that, I actually got a huge laugh out of it! 🤣 Yes, I’m still thinking about a new hobby and I decided to make a list of possible hobbies I could do and then narrow it down to maybe 4, toss their names in a hat and choose one! What do you think?🤔

    • Yes, I think it is, happens sometimes. It was a hot one again today, got up to 68 and stayed there, then suddenly a couple hours ago it jumped to 73, now it’s dropped again. Lazy day here, watered the remainder of my plants, finished cleaning up around them, looking good again.

    • Yep, went to church, not much else today though. Managed to get an infection in my toe, but it’s quite a bit better today. I have the PSW’s checking it each time they come.

    • It was only supposed to be 72 today but it hit 81 and now they have issued a severe thunderstorm warning for us for tonight with heavy rain and winds of 60mph. Might be a noisy night.

    • Can’t hear the rain in here, just the thunder and that keeps me awake. The power just went out briefly and the thunder is rumbling so I better sign off.

    • Good morning Dusty! I slept well last night, over 7 hours, that’s two nights in a row now. We sure had a big storm last night, constant lightning and thunder and lots of rain, over saturating the ground again. Cloudy and very muggy today.

    • Well, I can’t hear the rain at all in here when I’m in bed, the lightning was just amazing, lighting up the bedroom constantly, but the thunder wasn’t loud, just gentle rumbling which was kind of odd. That part was nice though, a constant gentle rumble, perhaps it did help with the sleep. The park across the street was under water again, lots of geese over there this morning swimming around having a great time.

    • Yep, even though it’s a holiday everything stays open around here, except some smaller stores like pharmacies. Banks are naturally closed.
      Yep, and their water park is going to expand because another big storm system is moving in tonight with lots more rain.🪿🪿🪿🪿🦆🦆
      I didn’t do much else today, too much pain, nearly my whole body was in pain today. That’s because of the rain and storms. This is the worst my arthritis has been all year.😬

    • Yes, it’s those abrupt changes that are super hard on the body and we have had a lot of those this year, more than normal and they were worse than normal too. You made a wise decision to head south. It is already dark outside, the heavy cloud cover made it dark earlier than normal.

    • The rain has begun, so maybe building a boat would be appropriate for tomorrow! 😂I think I saw a chipmunk starting to build one this afternoon! 🐿️⛵ I might do some touch up varnishing tomorrow, but I also still have one shelf unit of stuff that needs to be dusted, then I will be finished that once more for a while. I also made lids for some of my antique stoneware crocks before I moved here and I want to put knobs on them, which I finally purchased. Amazing how hard it was to find the right kind. So I might do that. I have a short list of things that need to be done and I want to get at them little by little.

    • No problem Dusty, it happens. Not the best of days, kind of like yesterday. Colder today. Managed to get more done yesterday than today though. Spent a lot of time looking for something again today. Sigh. I really need to keep track of things better than I do. Good project for that other season of the year.😂

    The weather around here today is very mixed up. It’s cooler than usual(about 94) and thunder and lightening most of the afternoon.

    • That’s okay, me too. At least I’m finding all kinds of things I don’t need to keep anymore. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny so I thought it would be my last chance to get out for some pictures while there might still be some insects around. However, due to this infection I had to make a doctor’s appointment instead. Sigh.🙄

  29. It’s not so easy to reach those digits at the end of your feet when you get older huh?😉 My nails do the same on my big toes. So I keep the edges trimmed to they don’t imbed themselves into my toes.

    • Yeah, I try to do that too, but, sometimes it doesn’t work so good. Yep, I just can’t reach down there like I used to. Sigh.🙄 I could hire someone but that costs $60 just to clip my toenails.😬 Might have to give in though.

    • They are not allowed to cut toenails, fingernails are okay, but not toenails. Toenails are more dangerous to cut and can get toes infected easily if they happen to miss the nail and cut the toe.

    • That money is only for cutting the toenails, though it does include soaking them first. The full treatment is more expensive. There is one lady that only charges $40. I met her. Nooooo way she is going near my toes!😱

    • She would take my sanity, which is worse than anything. I don’t have much of that left, or right, so I need to keep what I have. 🤣 Sigh.🙃

    • Sounds like a good busy day again. It was so nice and sunny here with a temp of 72, should be the same tomorrow with a big tumble in temps on Saturday. Actually saw two dragonflies out back here today, first ones all summer. Also saw vultures migrating south today, it’s their time to go.

    • Well, that’s where they live most of the year, we only get them for a few months, you get’em about 7 or 8 months. These likely will stop in MN for a while before heading further south.😊🐦‍⬛

  36. Good! Let them keep’em! 😠 That states a bunch of vultures anyway. They tax everyone into the poor house. Then let the scammers fly it out of the country. They’ll probably use the vultures now to fly it!🤭😂

    • And here I thought you liked your home state! Too cold for the vultures though, they like it warmer, after all, they have bald heads to keep warm!
      For the first time ever, I now have more Canadian readers than American readers! And all my Canadian readers are here in town now. I have more readers in China now than all of N. America. I only had 26 readers in total yesterday, back in January I was getting over 5,000! My blog is almost finished. 😢 Sigh. But I must admit, it’s not very exciting anymore. SIGH.😒

    • That’s okay, I’m a Manitoban but now an Ontarian. Manitoba ain’t what it used to be either.
      Got some new medication for my toe infection, should help if it doesn’t kill me. The medication that is. There is one paragraph telling the benefits of this drug and three double pages telling about the possible side effects. It begins by saying “this is not an exhaustive list”. Sigh.🙄

    • Who knows? I’ve only taken one pill so far, I take another one at 9, just before jumping into bed. How am I supposed to eat then? But I have to take 4 a day, evenly spaced out. I think someone is, that’s for sure!🛸🤣

  41. Nope, no of the above. Yesterday not good and today not so much better. Not feeling so good. My chest has been giving me some issues lately. Hard to tell if it’s serious or just regular aches and pains, but I’ve been kinda tired lately. I went to the island today for breakfast on the water. I’d forgotten how peaceful and relaxing that can be. Im gonna send you a picture of a new friend I met when I was there.🤭

      That’s not so good, terrible to feel like that, maybe it’s time for a checkup. My PSW was just here, she’s about the most regular one of them all. It’s been crazy mixed up with the PSW’s lately.🙄

    • Oh, a dinner companion, that’s even better.
      Not much, felt kind of lazy today. Made the bulletin for church tomorrow, that’s about it. Did some minor cleaning, that’s about it. I was tired all day even though I slept good last night.

    I got some sad news last night, another of my sisters passed away yesterday. She hasn’t been well for a while I guess. I don’t here from family unless someone dies. Oh well.

    • Sorry to hear that Dusty. Yeah, now that I have no siblings I never hear from anyone else in the family.
      Hopefully I will be going to church, though my back is really bad tonight, so kinda hard to say for sure.

    • It was good though not many people out today for some reason. It was a rather cool day today, only 57 for a high with a strong wind which made it feel colder. It was sunny though.

    • Yep, and it’s staying that way all week. Supposed to be only 42 tonight, colder outside of town, could even see some light frost in areas outside of town. Hard to believe that it’s dark before 8 now.😬

    • Yep, that it does. These new pills I have are definitely hard on my stomach, I have to make sure I have food in me. I was a bit late with the pills after lunch and did it ever upset my stomach! Gotta be more careful to take them when I’m supposed to.
