For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Greetings everyone! I hope you are having a great weekend. For us in the north it is the last weekend of the traditional summer, also called the meteorological summer, as opposed to the calendar summer which doesn’t exactly fit us in this area. This year though, it seemed like summer left us at the beginning of August instead of the end of August as it should be. Oh well.
Thought I would share one of my photos of the recent lunar eclipse that we enjoyed a couple of nights ago. It wasn’t a total eclipse for us in this area, but it was 93% covered. Unfortunately that last 7% up at the north part of the moon was quite bright, which made it a bit challenging to get a good photo of the eclipse.

But each of mine turned out fairly well, except for the early pics as the moon was gradually being covered. Oh well, it’s the final part that I wanted anyway. Thank you for stopping by to view, have a great weekend and God bless!

Very nice 👍 We had a total lunar eclipse a long time ago where I live, and the moon was covered with a crimson red color for a few minutes.

Thank you so much! I saw a total lunar eclipse 12 or 13 years ago but I didn’t have a camera back then. It was fun to see it though. Have a great week!😃

Beautiful photo of the moon, Steve. It was challenging in the Far North to see it, due to heavy cloud cover and the moon not yet rising over the horizon.
Our summer here was very short and mostly cold. Now the snow is coming on the tips of the mountains and it is dear freezing at night. The tree leaves started falling last weekend and the colors have changed. Hoping it will not be another brutal record breaking on the cold side winter this year. Enjoy the Autumn.

Thank you so much! We had so much cloud cover all week, but that night it was clear. Interestingly today the temperature was 83 degrees and sunny! However, that will be short lived as it begins to cool down tomorrow. I hope you get a better winter, hard to tell what it will be like here yet, but indications are it will be drier than normal anyway. The leaves are really beginning to change color here already which is odd considering all the rain we have had.

The leaves have changed and have been falling for a week. It is getting into the 30’s but not below freezing. Snow can sty on the ground in September until May, here. But hopefully, it will not come so early.

Yes, that’s much too early for snow! I’m really hoping for a milder winter this year.

Stunning photo of the moon, Steve. We’re still experiencing summer in my area, but it has cooled down to the high eighties instead of the high nineties. 🌚☕☕🍂

Thank you very much Eugenia! Oddly enough, the temperature rose to 83 degrees for us today, quite a surprise! But it will be cooling off again shortly.😊📷☕☕
