For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Jennifer and I had been in to visit Callison but the stress from her earlier ordeal was too much for her to talk with us for very long. I left after she broke down crying, but Jennifer stayed behind to help comfort Callison. Sky had brought Roxanne home as well since she had been hit by that bullet which had undoubtedly been meant for me, plus she brought Kitty home too. Sky felt it was better for her to be here to help out since not only I needed to be guarded but also Callison. And only Kat, Angel and Sky needed to be back in Scotland right now. We can change that if it is necessary.
As I left Callison’s room, Kitty followed me back to my office where Friskie was waiting for me. I called Dawn to come home because Callison told us that although we had everything else correct about finding the gems, the location was all wrong. Dawn told me that four men had been staying in the same hotel as them and seemed to be quite interested in the girls each day, though they never tried talking to Dawn or any of the others. I told Dawn that if those men gave them any trouble as they left for home that they should hit back fast and hard.
In other words, I had told her, don’t take any chances, they likely work for Wemyss. I then called Aari and asked him to hit another company belonging to Wemyss, the pressure is starting to work and he has been arrested. But I rather think his lawyers will have him back home again very soon. If he can pass off those drugs as Lola’s dealings, then he will be safe, so other pressures need to be applied. Then, once their next job is done I want the Black Wolves to go looking for those gems, since they are not far from where Callison hid them 4 years ago.
I just hope her memory was clear enough for her to remember the location. Those drugs did have an effect on her, we could tell that while talking with her. I won’t actually send Aari and his team after those gems until I’m sure we have the location accurate. I don’t want them wasting their time like Dawn and her team have been doing. After I had been shot at, back in Aberdeen, Aoife, one of our snipers, had been taking her turn on the roof of our hotel and she spotted where the shot came from, so she shot back at that window several times.
Sky called the police after taking Jennifer and I back home and they went to check the building. Sure enough, on the sixth floor of that building, they found a dead man in the office of a company belonging to Wemyss. But he had made it look like he broke into the office so Wemyss wouldn’t be suspected of being involved. It worked too. Wemyss is now back home while Lola is being held in custody for having 5 million euros worth of drugs in her possession for the purpose of trafficking. She also had $2 million in US currency hidden in her closet.
Apparently Lola is very upset with Wemyss right now but not quite upset enough to turn on him, not yet anyway. Perhaps that will change. I don’t understand why she wants to protect him after he left her on her own. Apparently he isn’t even offering his lawyer’s services to her. Guess he is really trying to keep his distance from all of this so it doesn’t hurt his business anymore than it has already. We need to turn up the heat a bit more and another visit from the ghosts is a good place to start. However, Jennifer needs to be there to help with that tonight, so Sky is back to pick her up again.
However, Jennifer said no to that since we need 3 ghosts here right now. Sky sighed rather loudly. She then tapped Jennifer’s shoulder and pointed behind her. Jennifer turned around to see Angel standing there smiling. “Oh, that’s different,” said Jennifer. Sky took her hand and they were gone. Kat and Jennifer can handle anything or anyone that Wemyss has at his estate so Angel wasn’t needed. Once back Fergus came to the hotel looking for me, but Sky told him I was called back home to look after some things from there.
He then said there had been two attempts on his life today, so she communicated that with me. I told her to make sure some of our girls are helping to guard him, including her if possible. She told that to Fergus but he said no to the help. However, I told Sky to give the help anyway, just keep out of sight. While he was there a call came to him that his wife had called saying some men were watching the house. Fergus, Sky and some of the Bad Girls went along with him. When they got to his home there were bullet holes in the living room window and a car came racing down the street shooting at them.
Sky shot a lightning ball at the car, hitting the road ahead of it and exploding causing the car to swerve and hit a tree. Four men got out and began to shoot and the Bad Girls shot back killing two. The other two surrendered and the girls brought them back to Fergus who had gone inside to check on his wife. Sky had gone in with Fergus just in case there were other men inside, but all they found was Fergus’ wife, and she was dead, hit by the bullets that had come through the window. Fergus demanded answers from the two men, but they just smiled.
Fergus wanted to hit them but knew he couldn’t, so Sky had the girls bring the men into the kitchen and she asked the men who hired them. Again they just smiled. Sky smiled back and reminded them that she isn’t a cop so she doesn’t mind using different methods for getting answers. They still said nothing. She went over to them and put a bubble around the 3 of them so Fergus couldn’t hear anything, then she touched them, shocking them. They screamed and screamed, then she stopped and asked again.
They still said nothing and suddenly they held their heads, screaming in pain! When they fell to their knees she stopped. They then admitted Wemyss hired them to kill Fergus’ wife. When Fergus heard that he promised that Wemyss would be in prison for what he did. The police had arrived now and took the 2 men out to their car, but another car drove by and shot the 2 men. The Bad Girls shot back killing the driver and the car then drove into the first men’s car causing an explosion and killing the other 2 occupants. Wemyss is good at making sure no one can testify against him.
That night his “house ghost” appeared in his bedroom again, along with her clone. “Hello Mr. Wemyss, remember me?” asked the two ghosts together, “I told you to leave my house and you haven’t done that yet, now you must pay.” But Wemyss again took out his gun and began shooting, but he had to drop his gun because it was too hot. This time Kat left the gun hot and it caught the blanket on fire, which spread very quickly. Wemyss yelled just as his men came running in, but they, too, had to drop their hot guns.
But Wemyss kept yelling to grab the two women which his men couldn’t see. Wemyss tried to run, but Jennifer was standing in front of him and put up her hand and he couldn’t move. Then a pulsing hit him, tossing him against the wall by his burning bed. Jennifer frowned and began walking toward him…
