Just Some Pics. #17

Greetings everyone! The day started off nice and sunny, but that changed to cloudy skies with high humidity by afternoon. Apparently there is some stormy weather coming our way. It’s actually surprising that it hasn’t begun to rain yet, those clouds have been rather dark for quite some time now. It also means that it will get dark earlier than normal tonight and it already gets dark early.

September will see us lose a lot more of our daylight hours, apparently this month loses more hours of daylight than other months. Fall is here. Shorter days, longer nights, cooler days, cooler nights. Although it was fairly warm today considering it’s September, it actually got up to 73F (23C) once again. Not hot by any means, but warmer than normal anyway. Oh well.

Birdfoot Trefoil

Thunderstorms are supposed to move into our area in another half hour or so. I can believe that. I lost another plant today, my second since early July, to spider mites. I have been battling those tiny critters for the past 2 weeks, but they finally won and I tossed the plant so it wouldn’t infect any other plants.

Evening Primrose

I have had it quarantined in the kitchen for the past two weeks, spraying it regularly, but sometimes it just doesn’t pay to keep at it. So I gave up. Usually spraying the plant will take care of the problem, but some plants are hard to spray effectively.

Wild Bush-Honeysuckle

Oh well, it’s just one plant, so that’s not so bad. Other than that my plants are looking great and growing very nicely. I have a nice little tropical jungle in here now.

So, since I’m talking about plants, here are some pictures of wildflowers from our earlier trip down the highway to visit some lakes, all nice bright yellow for a cheerful look! I hope you all have a great day and God bless!
