For a smile as wide as a country sunrise

Hi everyone!
Here is a nice sunshiny flower for our day, the “Fringed Loosestrife”. The flowers are about 1 inch (2.5cm) across and hang downward which makes them a bit tricky to photograph. I held this one up so it would make things easier. They are often found in wetter areas but will grow most anywhere. This one was growing on a rock hillside in not much soil. They are a very beautiful and bright wildflower and it is always a joy to find one of them. Have a great day and God bless!

Hi everyone and welcome back to our look at insects!
Here we have another fly that looks much like a bee or wasp, however it is a fly, another different “Flower Fly, Helophilus species”. There are many of these flower fly species and they play an important role in pollinating. They do not sting or bite so are not a problem that way. This is one of the larger ones and can be found from July to September in our area. I hope you enjoy this little flower fly. Have a great day and God bless!
