For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone on this Monday morning! Well, it is time for some more humor from our feathered friend, Grover. Here are his picks for today…
I told my boss that three companies were after me and I need a raise.
My boss asked, “What companies?”
Gas, water and electricity.

Celery has negative calories. It takes more calories to eat a piece of celery than the celery has in it to begin with.

Being an adult is like folding a fitted sheet. No one really knows how.

Based on the amount of laundry I do each week, I’m beginning to think there are people who live here that I haven’t met yet.

A man reading a newspaper said to his wife, “This report says that every time I breathe, three people die.” “That does not surprise me,” replied his wife.

The doorbell rang and the lady of the house discovered a man, complete with toolchest, on the front porch.
“Madam,” he announced, “I am the piano tuner.”
The lady exclaimed, “Why, I did not send for a piano tuner.”
The man replied, “I know, but your neighbors did.”

Good morning and Happy Sunday to everyone! It is the first day of a new week and the first day of the last week of April. At least over here in North America. I discovered that over in Europe, and perhaps other places too, Sunday is actually the last day of the week and Monday being the first day of the week. So now my readers over there will understand why I mention Sunday as the first day of the week, which I have done at other times too.

I just figured that everywhere was the same that way, so it is something good to know. Well, it is not exactly sunny today, though as I have mentioned before, the sun always shines no matter how thick the clouds, no matter how much rain or snow comes, the sun still shines. And it will soon become visible again as well. That is the same with troubles and problems that come into our lives, those are the thick clouds.

We just need to remember that the sun still shines and will soon come out again with its bright, encouraging rays of warmth. We have had a lot of rain over the past 24 hours and it is still raining now. The temp is presently 37F (3C), but the wind has switched to the north and is bringing colder air down from the Arctic again, so our temp will be dropping below freezing by this afternoon and down to just 16F (-9C) by tonight. And with it more snow, about 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10cm) of snow.

Plus after all this rain there will be ice everywhere! That will make walking around rather treacherous, especially for people like me. Oh well, good weather to stay inside and drink coffee, lots of coffee. And eat my coffee flavored cupcakes, made with real coffee. So, so good. More redpolls have joined our little group of birds, so there is now well over 100 of them. Junco numbers have been reduced to around 100 as they are likely spreading out to other areas during this rain.
The rain has really melted the snow a lot, though there is still a foot (30cm) or more in places, of snow on the ground still. So that soft snow will freeze solid to be just ice since tomorrow’s daytime high will only be 21F (-6C). That is a very cold temp, even for us, for this time of year. Well, I do have some nice sunny flower photos to share for today anyway and soon the sun will be visible again. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone and God bless!
