Sunny Sunday! #15

Good morning and Happy Sunday to everyone! It did not get quite so cold last night, and today does not look too bad. Until tonight and tomorrow. More snow on the way, but not supposed to be too much though. I hope. It made it to 45F (7C) yesterday, not too bad really, but the snow was still hard, though getting softer in places. Last evening when I went to bring the feeders in around 8pm, the sound of gulls crying was everywhere.

Finally the main flock of ring-billed gulls had arrived! It sounded so nice, I just wanted to stand there and listen to them. So beautiful. That is a real sound of spring, but the latest they have ever come back. However, I still enjoyed it. There likely was thousands of them, usually is that many when the main flock arrives. There are around 15,000 of them that nest on our lake. Plus, of course, our herring gulls too, but they are not so plentiful.

Beautiful peonies.

Muffin is curled up beside me sleeping. And dreaming. It must be an active dream too. She is chattering and jumping and having lots of fun. Speaking of having fun, I was not really. Yesterday that is. I was trying to get some printing done. My printer would have none of that. It just sat there like it was not plugged in. I was about ready to toss it out the door again, right into a pile of snow.

Another one.

Except it would not sink into the snow anyway, so why bother? No fun in that. Okay, I would not have done that. But it was fun to think about it. So finally I hit “cancel printing”. And it started to print. Each time I wanted to print I would hit that “cancel printing” button. Each time it would then print. I admit that I am not the smartest person around, but it seems to me that is a bit backward.

More beautiful peonies.

Plus it has started making terrible sounds now, scraping, groaning, squealing. Kind of like me when I get up in the morning, maybe even worse. No, could not be worse. Oh well, I got my printing done anyway. Even if I had to cancel it to do it. It must be time for more coffee. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone and God bless!

Wildflower Of The Week. #10

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday!

Today we have the simple beauty of the bright and cheerful common buttercup. A wildflower familiar to most everyone. They have a nice waxy appearance and truly are very bright in color. They are also a favorite flower for many pollinating insects. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone and God bless!
