For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning to all of you on this gray Tuesday! We do get a lot of gray days here during the winter. The clouds are heavy, making things dull, and quite literally very dark at times, particularly inside. So it means using lights indoors a lot all through the day. It is a gray day today. We are supposed to get some freezing drizzle and a little snow as well. It will be mild, for us, with a high of 32 to 34F (0 to 1C) today, with a fairly strong wind. So it will not feel quite so mild, that wind always makes it feel colder.
It would be a good day for walking to the river, but with the moisture it makes it tough for taking pics. Plus it makes for harder walking. I will see what it is like a little later. This is a gray day. However, please do not get me wrong on this. Gray days can have a lot of beauty as well. We have a lot of gray birds here in the winter, usually mixed with white and black. But they are all very beautiful. And they are part of our gray days of winter.

These gray days can even change the color of the landscape. Coniferous trees, like the pines, spruce, balsam fir, all take on a very dark appearance, making photos look like they are black and white, not color. But it is just another look at the beautiful scenery. Sunshine does bring out the colors and makes everything look vibrant and more alive. But still, gray days have a beauty to give us as well. Gray days can also make people depressed, discouraged and increase “cabin fever” for many.
This is very real, and I think these things hit most people to some extent during the winter season. I can feel it too, mostly in the form of cabin fever. Cabin fever is very real. But sometimes it can help to look at things differently. Turn these gray days into something of beauty. Get outside if you can and look at that beauty. It really does make a difference.

My top featured image is a gray day photo. But look at the beauty of that frost. The patterns are just amazing. I don’t even need to leave the apartment to see the beauty of a gray day. Yes, I prefer sunny days, as I said previously, they are vibrant and more alive. They bring out the color of everything. The birds are busy today again. They likely need some more food. And I think more coffee is a good idea, what about you? Have a wonderful gray day everyone and God bless!
