For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! Welcome to our second look at what Grover the grackle has for us. I do hope you can get at least a grin from these today!
A man rushed off the train and ran up to a young boy standing on the platform. “We have only got a short stop here,” said the man, “here is 5 dollars, go into that cafe and get me a sandwich will you? And here is another 5 dollars, get a sandwich for yourself as well.” The boy was gone so long the man began to get nervous. Just as the conductor hollered “All aboard!”, the boy dashed out of the cafe and ran over to the man. “Here is your 5 dollars,” he said, “they only had one sandwich.”
A banquet speaker went on and on with his speech. The mayor nodded and after a while he rested his head on the table. The chairman reached over and bumped him lightly on the head with his gavel. “Hit me harder,” the mayor said, “I can still hear him.”
Thank you for checking out Grover’s Grins and Groans today! Hope your day is great and God bless!

Good morning everyone! It is another nice day here, not exactly warm, but still it is not so bad. And we did not get all the snow they had forecast for us yesterday. I don’t know what happened to it, but it obviously went somewhere else, which is fine too. Though perhaps the people in line with the storm did not think so. But we do like to share with others, especially when it comes to snow and cold weather! Just a little fun there.
Well, we are basically past the half way point in winter, or at the half way point, depending on when spring actually arrives. By that I mean when the snow is actually gone. Which I am hoping will be a quick thaw this year. Whenever the snow melts slowly it means there is terrible icy conditions around for about a month. And that is dangerous.

If the snow melts quickly then we get over that icy part quickly, which is very nice. But, whatever comes will come and eventually we are into the beginning of real spring weather. But right now that is a long way off. We are supposed to get some nice weather this week though, even getting up into the low 30sF possibly. But that will only be one day.
However, it will mean some nice weather for walking and I will try to take advantage of that with walks to the river. And hopefully spending some time out here with my birds each day. I am still trying to get a picture of a pine grosbeak on my hand, or an evening grosbeak. Both have been on my hand, but I did not have my camera. I was hoping they would get used to the idea of sitting on my hand first. But perhaps this week I will try with the camera and see if I can attract them.

The days are getting noticeably longer now. I have to get out earlier in the morning to get the feeders stocked with seeds before the birds arrive. And the birds stay later in the afternoon now as well. No birds have arrived yet though, I managed to beat them this morning. It is going to be a wonderful day. I hope you all have a sunny Sunday and God bless!
