Summer Time. A Poem.

Summer time, with colors bright,

It’s long warm days that feel just right.

Trees are dressed in pleasant green,

Flowers aplenty fill the scene.

So much life that does abound,

Such wondrous beauty all around.

Breathe in deep, that pure clean air,

Providing scents so fresh and fair.

Listen close as birds do sing,

Their melodies make forests ring.

Rivers, lakes, with rocks and hills,

Summer time, and all of it’s thrills.

Daily pics #215.

Good morning everyone and Happy Sunday! It’s a cool morning once again with a temp of 54F (12C). It did start off sunny, but now the clouds have moved in once more, which makes it feel cooler. However, there is warmer weather on the way, it should arrive Tuesday or Wednesday. Hopefully. It’s hard to believe that August is here already. It seems that summer just started and now it’s ending. Last year summer ended the middle of August, that’s when the temp cooled off, the rain began and it never warmed up again. That’s only 2 weeks away. But it doesn’t mean it will happen that way again, though that is something that happens quite often. While out walking I have noticed a big difference. Before the bushes were so full with leaves it was hard to see very far away. Now the lower leaves are dropping off, leaving only the high, new leaves.

So it’s beginning to look more empty and I can see farther through the trees again. Plus the plants that had been growing so lush and green are dying off which further opens the area. Most flowers have stopped blooming, the fall flowers have begun to bloom but don’t seem to be so plentiful this year. Last year at this time the large leaved asters were blooming everywhere. This year there is only a few. Leaves on many smaller bushes are changing color. Grass that was up past my knees and in some places waist high, has now turned brown and fallen flat. It’s late summer. But so much beauty still persists this time of the year.

The top featured image is a mock orange flower from a small tree in my landlord’s yard. The photo below is a beautiful bright white cosmos, a very easy to grow garden flower.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
