For a smile as wide as a country sunrise

Good morning everyone on this beautiful Wednesday morning! I hope your week is going well. Everything is jumping over here at Steve’s Country! Well, half of us are jumping and half of us are watching the other half. I’ll let you guess who is who, it shouldn’t be too hard I’m sure.😂😹 Even though it looks like winter outside, it does have a spring like look inside. My orchids are still blooming nicely. My African violets are now in full bloom again after taking a 3 week rest, something they do once or twice a year. The rest of the time they are producing flowers, which is especially nice in the winter months.
But now it’s time for some warm spring and summer pics to enjoy…

Not exactly sure what these flowers are from Italy, but in the mint family anyway, very similar to flowers we have except ours are purple.
One of our rock doves (feral pigeons), I thought it’s coloring was quite cool so decided to share this one.
I was going to leave it with two pics, but decided to share this pic of a “dark-eyed junco”. This is another of my favorite birds and amazingly friendly. Well, there it is for today, enjoy your Wednesday and God bless!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well today. This is the time of year when there is a lot of sickness around, with colds and flu. Please be careful and take the usual precautions to avoid getting and transmitting these things. It’s quite amazing, it has been 5 months since I injured myself and yet I am still having some problems. After seeing my doctor today I discovered this is about as good as it’s going to get. I will always have problems with this muscle now.

So that means I need to be extra careful in what I do from now on. Especially with things like my spring cleaning, which is going to be slower than ever now. But I will also need to be careful on my river walk once I’m able to get at that path again. Though much of the path is easy walking, some areas are quite rugged. That’s where I will need to be extra careful. Amazing how something that seemed so simple can cause such problems.

But I want to thank all of you for coming over for coffee with Muffin and I again. Muffin is starting to enjoy these coffee times and meeting everyone. Hi Tiffany, nice that you could join us again today. And I see that Muffin has decided to make herself comfortable with you today as well. Hey there Jim and Richard, nice of you to come by today. Hi Nina and Pene, glad you could stop by today too. And here comes Michelle too, nice to see you again.

I have coffee, different kinds of tea and hot chocolate available today. Hi Sheree, I see you have brought along some more of your delicious baking for us to sample. It is always so good. And here comes Chrissy and Ribana too, nice to have you join in our coffee time. Hi Sharon, oh, I see you brought your delicious cinnamon buns along for our coffee today too! Like Sheree’s goodies, I’m sure they won’t last long.

Just thought I would share kind of a general look at some of my “stuff” today. People sometimes wonder how I manage to get so much into such a tiny apartment. Well, it isn’t easy actually, takes a lot of practice. But it’s kind of fun to see how much I can get in here without the place kind of falling out all over the place. You know, like opening the closet door and everything spills out onto the floor. Sometimes I think that will happen when I open my outside door and Muffin and I go tumbling out with all my “stuff” following close behind!😲🙀

Anyone ready for a refill yet? I’m sure Buddy and Jim have empty cups by now. How about you Tiffany? Anyone else? I’m surprised that Muffin is so calm today, she really is enjoying herself. You’ll have to excuse the fact that my place isn’t quite as clean as it should be, pay no attention to the dust on the shelves. Terrible really. I might have to suspend these coffee times until I can get this place cleaned up better.
What was that Lydia? My kerosene lamps? Yes, I do actually use them on these dark winter evenings. They give such a beautiful cozy glow to the room which just adds such a wonderful warmth to the apartment. Makes me think of a country cabin. Wow, that wind is really howling out there today, blowing that new snow around. Well, I’m sure you have probably never seen such a crazy, wacky place as this little apartment. There is quite a variety of different things here to look at and there is still a lot more yet amazingly. I hope you have enjoyed our little visit today, be careful on your way home. I hope you all have a most wonderful day and God bless!
