For a smile as wide as a country sunrise

Hello everyone and welcome to another award post! I was nominated by two kind people for this award today and I’m sorry for taking so long to get this done, I’m still way behind on my awards! But I want to thank Laura, who nominated me first, and Sara for thinking of me for this great award! Thank you so very much, I really do appreciate it! Please check out their blogs and give them a follow!
Well, let’s see, I started the blog one day and here I am. MEOW!! What? Not good enough? Okay, many long months ago…no, wait, that doesn’t sound right. Meow, meow. Oh, okay, let’s try that. I always enjoyed writing but really had no idea what a blog was or how to write a blog. But I was encouraged to give it a try by a friend so looked around a bit and first started a blog on another site, but it wasn’t going so good. Then I discovered WP and started Steve’s Country as a place for people to come and relax for a bit, enjoy some nature photos and perhaps get a smile or laugh from some of the stories that I write. After a while I started to include Muffin (Meow,=that’s me😸😻) and she quickly became a prominent part of my blog. Yes, Muffin is a real cat and much of what I share about her is quite factual! Even the way she acts in my new fiction series, 20/20 Investigations, Inc.🕵️♂️🕵️♀️ I started including poetry too late last spring which amazingly has become quite popular.
1. Write about something that you enjoy and stay with it. Not everyone will like everything you write about, but don’t worry about that. If you write what you like then you will get a good list of followers that like those things also and blogging will be enjoyable and something you will want to continue.
2. Be willing to answer comments as soon as possible, engage with your followers, be kind and respectful. Read other blogs, and comment, but again in a kind and respectful way.
There is really a lot of advice that could be given I guess, but I’m only allowed two.😂😹
Well, that’s it for this one, thanks again Laura and Sara for this nomination! I hope all of you have a wonderful week and God bless!

Good morning on this fine Tuesday! How are you today? I do hope that all is going well for you and that you are enjoying your day. A little cooler up here once again and the next couple of days are supposed to stay that way before moving back toward milder weather once again. That black male cat comes around most nights now looking for Muffin. All that Muffin wants to do is tear him apart. Smart girl. Good thing Muffin doesn’t go outside. Our days are getting longer all the time, that is so nice. Short winter days can be hard. Poor Muffin. She still has her days and nights mixed up. She gets up when I’m going to bed. She doesn’t like that part too much. She sits at the bedroom door swishing her tail back and forth, giving me that “look”. If you have a cat you know what I mean. Winter carries on. For a long time yet.
But there are still summer pics to brighten the day…

A very lovely scented wild rose after a summer shower, with two bees busy gathering nectar before the next shower arrives.
Some nice bright red berries on a summer morning, though I have no idea what they are or if they are edible. The birds, however, certainly enjoy eating them.
Nice summer pictures for our lovely Tuesday. I hope everyone has a beautiful day and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
