For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
I was kind of challenged to write a poem. A poem about cats, mice, and a wolf. Well, I think the wolf slept too late this morning, but while I was enjoying my morning coffee, this little poem came along. It’s about 2 online buddies, Mr. Cat and Muffin. I hope you enjoy…
Cats And Mice
Mice are running, having fun,
Sharing cheese, one by one.
Then along comes Mr. Cat,
Chasing the mouse, by a hat.
He is wearing knitted socks,
Slides on floor, and he knocks
His own head, on the chair,
With Muffin laughing, over there.
Then she chases one big mouse,
Through each room in the house.
She comes back…Empty hands?
Smiles Mr. Cat, where he stands.
Then both decide to retire,
Curling up beside the fire…
For tonight.

Good morning to all of you on this cold December morning. But not quite as cold today, which is nice, only -23C (-10F) although the wind makes it feel colder. Nearly froze one of my fingers yesterday while out there with bare hands trying to get some pictures of birds. Didn’t get any pictures either. Sigh. Oh well, another chance today perhaps. I want to get a picture of that goldfinch that’s around. They are common here in summer, but never around in winter, so this would make a good picture. And speaking of pictures, let’s take a look at today’s…
Here we have a tall mallow in a delicate light lavender. My landlord has only one plant of these and the flowers don’t last long unfortunately.
Another daffodil, but with a darker yellow/orange center than the one yesterday. Daffodils are such a nice, bright spring flower.
Well, that’s our flowers for today, I hope you have a wonderful day and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
