Good morning everyone on this nice evening of the last day of November! It is dark. But still early. Sometimes it’s hard to get used to it being dark so early in the evening. I like summer when it stays daylight until 10:30 pm. That’s much better. The days are short now. And getting shorter. Sigh. But Christmas is coming and that brightens the winter for a while. Then comes January. But we won’t talk about that yet. Too scary. Sigh. It’s a bit warmer now. Unfortunately there has been some light freezing rain/mist. So when I went out to feed the birds this morning I didn’t notice at first that there was a layer of ice on the deck. I stepped out there. And…AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I slid across the deck and landed against the railing with a thump. Out comes the sand. Sigh. That deck is slippery enough with that glossy paint on it. Oh well. Only another 4 months or so. But it’s fun to watch these little critters.
No matter what the weather they are out there without a complaint. Hmm, maybe we should learn something from them.
Mama comes around each day now. She is usually by herself these days. Always so nice when she comes to say ‘hi’. And she is just as friendly as ever. Just take a look. No, there is no food in my hand. She is just licking my hand. Her way of saying ‘hi’. She is a very nice size deer. Oddly the various bucks haven’t been around for a while. They just don’t want to cooperate this year so I haven’t been able to get a good pic of any of them yet. Sigh.
Going to the ER is never fun. I was at our local ER the other day. Only had to wait 2 and a half hours. Not bad. It can be much longer. But I did go very early in the day. That helps. There was no one waiting when I arrived. Four people still got in ahead of me. Sigh. I don’t have a doctor anymore. That’s why I had to go to the ER. People are told to go to the ER if you don’t have a doctor. At the ER the doctor says I need to get a doctor. There are no available doctors. That’s why I’m at the ER. I certainly don’t go there because it’s fun. Now I don’t have a doctor and I can’t go back to the ER. Sigh. But these little critters brighten up the day. That’s why God made them.
Speaking of shopping. As I entered the store, the greeter greeted me and handed me a cart. Before I had a chance to take the cart this young woman came running, grabbed the cart and literally ran off with it. That wasn’t nice, said the greeter. True. But Christmas is coming. Must expect things like that. Sigh. As I was trying to reach something on the top shelf another lady came up behind me and pushed me against the shelves with her cart. Rather hard. Just kept on going. Never said a word. Amazing. I wanted to buy a new Christmas decoration. The one I wanted was at the back. Right at the back. Naturally. I proceeded to remove all the ones in front. One stuck. I pulled harder. The whole rack, which was sitting on a shelf, fell over toward me. Decorations started going everywhere. Amazingly nothing broke. I finally managed to put everything back. Left without the decoration I wanted. I bought a different one. Sigh.
Muffin is sleeping. We had a good playtime this afternoon. She just went wild! What were we playing with? A peanut. Why buy toys that she won’t play with? Amazing. Anyway, enjoy your weekend and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
