It’s That Feeling Again.

Welcome everyone! I hope all of you are having a wonderful day.  Here it is a beautiful spring day.  It’s mainly sunny, some clouds around too, but it is warm.  There is a freshness in the air that says ‘spring’.  The snow has gone. The leaf buds on the trees are really getting swollen now giving a rather fuzzy look to some of the trees, especially the aspens and maples.  The ground is drying nicely in the sun.  The grass is beginning to turn that nice emerald green.  Insects are flying around, including bees, butterflies and oddly I even saw a dragonfly a few minutes ago while I was sitting on the deck.

A common grackle, there are a lot of these birds back now, not exactly a thrilling bird perhaps, but their colors are quite nice, and how often do you see one standing on one foot?

I love spring.  New life sprouting all over.  The daylilies have begun to grow.  So have many other plants.  Daisies, daffodils, iris, not blooming yet, but they are growing.  Wild strawberries are growing also and will soon be in bloom.  The violas and forget-me-nots are growing nicely and their bright flowers will soon be filling the area back here.

Dandelions have begun to bloom.  Not exactly an exotic flower, but it is nice to see their bright yellow flowers after such a long bitter winter.  They do tend to become a pest for peoples lawns.  Not sure why though.  They are actually amazing plants.  The entire plant can be eaten. They are easy to grow.  They make a good coffee substitute. Leaves are healthier than lettuce and taste good too.  The flowers can really brighten a spring or summer salad.

There certainly isn’t much bird activity today though.  Quite surprising.  There was a phoebe out here this morning, but it was too early to get a picture, just not enough light. And their color makes them blend in nicely with the background.  So brighter light is needed.  Or getting up nice and close, which isn’t easy.  It is definitely more of a challenge this year to get pictures.  But it will get a bit easier as more birds arrive.

Some of you will remember that last summer someone threatened to shoot me.  Why?  Just because he wanted to.  A prank?  Perhaps.  The police figured it was just a prank.  And I’m still here.  I didn’t know the man.  But he knew things about me.  Things that someone shouldn’t know, unless they were around here at some time.  Before that happened I got a lot of strange phone calls.  Odd times of the day.  It’s happening again.

Another fox sparrow. Yes, that is a hole he is digging. They scratch like chickens and will often dig a hole deep  enough to bury themselves.

Now, this apartment is not well known.  It looks like part of the main house.  But it is completely separate.  Even people that have lived in the area for 20 years didn’t know there was an apartment here.  So how do others know?  And how do they know what I have inside.  In places that cannot be seen from the outside.  It gives me an uneasy feeling sometimes.  I admit, I don’t like that kind of feeling.  I’m out for a walk.  Someone stops me on the street.  I have never seen this person before.  He proceeds to tell me things about my apartment that no one should know about.  But he did.  I just laughed and kept on going.

The police have his description, but know nothing about him.  This is an odd neighborhood.  I would rather put up with all these dangerous animals.  Like the squirrels and chipmunks.  Oh well.  I really think I would like to move.  Actually, what I need is a vacation.  Get away for a while.  Relax.  Get rid of some of this stress.  One of these days.  A nice warm place.  Palm trees.  Ocean view.  That’s what I call a vacation destination.

  1. I’m glad is staying springy there! I think it’s just about 90 degrees here!
    We live in a creepy area too. It’s not really safe. Police are always watching. We’ve been in this house for 19 years! I wasn’t even alive! 😉 20 years a even longer… I can’t imagine!

    • I try to take these things seriously, but if I think about it too much it just makes me nervous.🤔 So I try to pretend it doesn’t exist. Thanks for reading and your prayers!😃

      • Sounds like a stalker! And yes take it seriously! Any threat! I have actually been there sort of. Someone I love was threatened by this shady character and made a statement to them, saying they could kill their family in their sleep. (I was that family they were talking about!) I’m a radical kind of person I guess. Told them to send the word to bring it on! I wasn’t scared, and I know where I’m going! I definitely prayed hard!!! They never bothered my loved one or me ever again! I wouldn’t suggest anyone doing that lol unless they were what I call, prayed up, packed up and ready to go lol!!

  4. I am praying for your protection Steve! Maybe the person saw your blog and saw the photos of all the antiques. I pray the Lord delivers you from evil, He puts a hedge of protection around you, and He gives His angels charge over you, in Jesus’ Name, Amen. I don’t know what your gun laws are like in Canada, but here in Colorado we can legally open carry a gun on our hip without a license (because the 2nd amendment is our license), and we can conceal carry with a concealed carry permit. We also have the “Make my day lawhere in Colorado which basically States we can defend ourselves using deadly force if somebody breaks into our house there will be no civil or criminal pallentes against us we don’t have many home break INS here in Colorado because of that. The criminals know that we can shoot them and there’s nothing they can do about it they can’t sue us if they get hurt breaking in like in California. I have plenty of protection here at the house and I carry a .45 Glock when we go to the mountains. Over a decade ago I seriously considered going to the police Academy. Syriac disease stop that dream but I did get some awesome firearms training from a man who trained swat teams for 25 years and that was cool. I can now use that training to protect my family and I will use it if I have to. Take those threats seriously brother. I would look into some form of self defense according to your country’s laws and I would definitely stay in contact with the police. I really hope it’s not some Islamic nut job harassing you.

    • Thanks for reading Ryan and the great comment! Here in Canada it’s illegal to carry any handgun and it’s a lengthy process just to get a rifle for hunting, And they want to make things even tougher here for guns. I do have some protection, but it wouldn’t help much if the other person is carrying a gun. Thanks for your prayers Ryan, much appreciated! Have a great day and God bless!

      • That’s too bad. I know they made AR15 rifles illegal up there too. Well, a good piece of hickory will do the job too if you get the drop on them first. Here at the house I have a small arsenal: 12 Gauge Winchester pump action shotgun, .45 and 9mm Glocks, Ruger .357 Magnum, 20 Gauge pump action shotgun, .30-06 scoped rifle, and my black beauty the 5.56 M4 carbine. I also have a .22 caliber pellet rifle that is powerful enough for hunting and even self defense, a couple .17 caliber pellet rifles, and two CO2 powered pellet pistols. 🙂 Daddy like! The liberals here made the 30 round magazines for the AR15s illegal, but the mags people had before the law was made were grandfathered in, so I can still legally have mine. 🙂 This is the wrong house to come looking for trouble because trouble is exactly what they are going to find. Just like Dirty Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood) said to the criminals, “Do you feel lucky punk? Well, do ya?!” 🙂 Stay safe brother!

  7. Sounds like you need to consider a change in location more seriously. Specially if he knows you on the street and is familiar with your dwelling. Do you know of anyone or place to stay? Scary Stuff!
