Monday’s Sunny Skies.

Happy Monday to everyone on this rather cool and wet Monday morning here at Steve’s Country.  There is heavy clouds and a steady rain this morning.  I know for some a rainy day and Monday just makes for a terrible beginning to the week.  But that’s the wrong way to look at things.  First, Monday is just a day like any other day.  So it’s up to us, we can make it a terrible day or a good day.  The choice is ours.  Monday can’t do anything by itself.  So, since we make the choice, why would we want to make it a bad day?  That only makes us feel terrible.  So really, we are just choosing to make ourselves miserable. Kind of an odd choice.  I don’t want to deliberately make myself miserable.  What fun is that?

Why not choose to make Monday a great day?  That way we will feel good about the day, and we will feel good about ourselves too.  And we can then go into the day happy.  Instead of looking like we just stuck our head into an old garbage can full of rotten fish. I mean, wouldn’t you rather be happy and have a good day?  The choice is ours.  Here it is cool, cloudy and raining.  But we need the rain.  It was once again very dry in the forest.  And that means that forest fires can get started easily.  We had that problem earlier this summer with some large fires burning here.  So we need the rain.  It keeps fires from getting going and destroying our forest.

Plus the plants still need moisture even though it is now fall and things have stopped growing for another season.  Plants, trees, still need moisture to help them through our long winter months.  Even on rainy days, the sun still shines above.  We just can’t see it. But it’s still there.  Still doing what it needs to do.  Even in helping to ensure those clouds come along to give us the needed rain.  I enjoy sunny days.  It would be nice to have sunshine every day.  But that is just not possible.  We need that rain too.  That principle works the same in our own lives too.

Of course this means I won’t be going out for my walk today.  But who knows, maybe it will stop raining long enough for a walk this afternoon.  Could happen.  If not, I have a lot to do inside anyway today.  And a rainy day gives me an excuse to stay indoors and get that work done.  And it’s a good day to stay inside and drink coffee!!  Except, when I went to make my coffee…nothing.  Nothing at all!  A rainy morning without coffee!  That’s worse than not seeing the sun.  Starting a day without coffee.  Oh well.  I had some hot chocolate anyway.  Not as good as coffee, but still good for a rainy day!

We need to keep our forests alive.  After all, they help to keep us alive.

Look for the sunshine.  Instead of grumbling and complaining, maybe there is an alternative to the problem at hand.  You know, a simple solution.  Like hot chocolate. It is our choice.  Be a grumbler.  Or be someone who spreads sunshine all around.  Keep that smile on your face.  And try not to chase bears.  Read Saturday’s post to understand that one.  I hope you all have a great Monday and God bless!

  1. Hi Steve! Have a great week ahead. Wow beautiful pictures Steve. and u r daring. Look at you beside a snake? omg i wouldve lost my breath. Use that sunshine to roam around and snap some pictures…and stay careful with bears. Have a great Day Steve!. Our monday ends in two hours 😉 Sharp!

    • Hey Simon, thanks for taking the time to read! I’m going to have to start posting at midnight! Oh, garter snakes are harmless and normally only get about 60cm long, although there is one big fella down by the river that must be 90cm, I did get a picture of that one finally too. Looks like the rain has stopped for a while so maybe I will try for a walk.🚶‍♂️📷 Guess I will say, have a great Tuesday! That way I will be early for a change!😄😸🌞🌳

    • Yes, these snakes are kind of fun, quite curious at times and harmless. At least now we have had a good rain so everything is nice and wet again, so we shouldn’t have to worry about fires now. Thank you so much for stopping by Lillian and I hope you have a great evening!😄😸😻🌞

      • I didn’t notice RJ was gone, was just talking to him yesterday and he never mentioned leaving, but he is gone, he is one of the followers I lost. That is sad. But hang on Lillian, good news will come too!😁😸
