Hello everyone on this fine autumn day! Due to the recent heavy rain we have experienced, the dam had to be opened more which raised the level of the river by about 7 feet. This has produced a wild flowing river with amazing current. As I was watching this and thinking about it the words of this poem came about. I hope you enjoy it.
The mighty river flowing past,
So deep and strong with current fast.
The river, risen high and wide,
Covers the shore on either side.
Oh how the water flows so strong,
Tearing shore and trees along.
The river shows it’s great beauty,
And it’s power so frightfully.
The water’s roar, mighty and loud,
Showing it’s strength in ways so proud.
Such might can tear both dirt and rock,
Give solid ground a pounding shock.
Against such force, swirling along,
None can withstand, however strong.
